The "switcher" thing you're talking about is a Tricaster, used in TV studios. You choose which angle you want to go to, and then pull a lever, and it does a cross dissolve between two camera feeds.

When I was I think like 7 years old we had these two bus drivers (Dan and Leslie) and Leslie started working at our school as a guy (born male) and slowly started becoming more feminine and ended up being transgender. She actually lived right in our town even after (quitting? Retiring?) but she recently died from I think a heart attack. Anyway, when my parents told me about her new name being Leslie because she wanted to be a woman, I didn’t really understand bc I was really young and being transgender was def a newer thing and not as common. I then asked, “Well what should I call Dan?” And my parents just cracked up. I don’t remember her dead name but she lived a good life so #DANLIFE

Never heard anyone describe WOW like that, but it’s totally accurate. My dad was consumed by that game for several years of my childhood. He would put me in a bouncer as a baby and sit me next to his desk while he played for hours. I remember wanting to play around 8 years old and he refused to let me even try it once with him.
