@@KimbasKingdom Ikr. When I first saw his video, I wasn't really surprised just to see if the Lion King is a ripoff of Kimba the White Lion. While the story and characters in Kimba is identical to the Lion King, it still have some elements that differs between the two.

I genuinely liked this episode. As always there were quite a few goofy moments like Kimba falling for Cassius's obvious trap, but I really enjoyed the episode overall. Most of the stories from the 1965 series are just in contained episodes, but this episode gave a strong start to Kimba and Kitty's relationship and gave opportunity for some other cool episodes, as well as being a nice and solid episode in its own right. And gosh I love the music.

It reminds us that even though he's brave, wise and strong beyond his years, that he is still a kid, and he is still naive and trusting like kids are. It makes him cuter and makes us want to protect him ^w^

The biggest flaw for me in this episode is that (at least in the 1965 dub) this was supposed to be Claw's first time meeting Kimba, him asking who the "prince" is ... despite already meeting him in episode 2 already. The 1993 dub fixed that flaw though with some different writing.

Kimba's Kingdom Yeah, especially with the song at the end in the original Japanese, it’s super chilling. I think what’s more awesome is how equal Kitty is to Kimba. That’s one of the best parts about Onward Leo. Even tho we never see much of Kitty as an individual, we see her fighting by Kimba’s side a lot. She’s less a damsel and more an active supporter.

I really love the Japanese version of Kitty's song. I'm not sure how close to true translation the English version it but it just isn't quite as pretty to me. Although the English dubbed episode only has the music and not the singing which I think should have been left in and in Japanese. You don't actually hear the English singing until the episode Jungle Fun . I've had several friends hear the song for the first time and ask me where did it come from and can I tell them where to find it.

It's a very nice song ^w^ A very catchy melody that works well as a leitmotif (repeating theme throughout the soundtrack), yet despite a strong melody it still feels wistful and relaxed. ❤️
