Awesome video again my man, quick question! With the Bees or the Navy in general. Are you going to be recording your work hours like any other apprentice in the civilian world?
@SeabeeLand2 ай бұрын
Yes! And I would wager 95% of Seabees don't care to log them. It's a shame. You would log them in USMAP on Quick Links and your Supervisor would just confirm the hours weekly. Google "USMAP Navy" and it'll pop up.

Rereading your question: you don't HAVE to log them, but you can and can gain your apprenticeship while in. Makes no sense why you wouldn't and I'm not sure why they never pushed it. "They" meaning Leadership. It's an amazing program.

@@SeabeeLand Wow that's shocking. Thanks for the info man.

I was told that the map packages are going away. From what I understand the way it’s going to work is that one Seabee(or fleeter) will pick a billit for let’s say UT1 and then the incoming command and the out going command both have to agree on advancing the individual, but I could be wrong.

That's interesting. Do you know the reasoning they're giving for taking the program away?

More info on A school would be awesome

That's a great idea! Seabee Sunday will probably be live again this Sunday since I'll be in NC all weekend, so I can go over it then if you tune in. I still have some curriculum and pamphlets they give you when you get there. At least, BU A-school. Information like cadence songs, formulas, schedule, etc.

What if a potential seabee get thiet CDL license, forklift cert, carpenter, electrical course with documentation , before they enlist will it help these young folks?
@SeabeeLand2 ай бұрын
Yes, Dan! I was a residential carpenter before entering the Navy. While "Big Navy" may not care, I can guarantee you that once Seabee Leadership finds out you have experience applicable from the outside, you will be desired everywhere and you will naturally have more opportunities to advance and make a name for yourself. That's a great question.

@@SeabeeLand my nephew plans going Seabee I'm gonna forward this video to him, and suggest to him take his CDL, Forklift and learn carpentry first before entering the Navy to get a leg up.

Do you think it matters being stationed in cali vs Gulfport for wanting to do more certs and licenses? *talking more about the FTX training stuff* Would they send me back to Gulfport if I was stationed in cali for that kinda training? Or probably be stationed in Gulfport right after A school and training. I’ll be an EO
@SeabeeLand2 ай бұрын
I don't think it matters. I was never in Cali; however, every battalion must reach the same requirements. Naturally, I believe that would mean every battalion generally has the same number of certified operators, etc. That may not always be the case, but I think it's a safe bet. And I believe EO "C" school is in Gulfport and ECS is as well. Those would be the only times I would think a West Coast Bee would have Temp Duty in Gulfport. At least, speaking of EOs. In boot camp, you'll get a wish list for where you want to be stationed. As a bee, that's pretty much Port Hueneme or Gulfport. I've never heard of a bee not getting the coast they wanted, but that's just my experience. EO "A" school is in Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri I believe. That's where you'll be after Boot Camp. Then most likely, you will go to Gulfport for ECS, and THEN your ultimate duty station. It all depends on where the Navy wants you.
