I'm mostly a death metal type guy who was in his early 20s when this kinda of emo was popular, and I liked a good amount of it. Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Fall Out Boy, ect. I always appreciated songs that were catchy. Let me tell you something: this is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. The dynamics, the arrangement. It's fucken unreal. The chorus is so epic, it's punishing with the double kicks. The whole instrumental is heavy as fuck. It's just the perfect song. 1000000000/10 absolutely phenomenal.

I found this band by accident when I was in highschool back in '06 I believe it was. My dad had bought a country cd from a secondhand shop && they put this cd in the case instead. I have had this song in my itunes library since probably 2002 that i download off limewire or something, , but it was under the band called "The Getaway" I randomly listened to it after a long time away from it, and it sent me down the rabbit hole trying to find more info about this band and song. I only just today In September 2020 learned that "The Getaway" and "Matchbook Romance" are in fact the same band.
