Excellent. Still relevant in 2018 with Pro Panel 2.7. Only "generate macros" has now moved to a different menu under 'project data / macros"...

We have moved the menu because a new macro navigator was created and all navigators are under the Project data menu item. It makes sense. I assign a shortcut to the menu item "generate macros automatically" and I never use the menus for this.

You can rotate a device when placing it. Ask you EPLAN expert, he will show you... You may have a different shortcut depending on your personnal settings

usually these macros are already created on the dataportal. Otherwise, get a stp file and import it. All you need to do is define the placement area, the handle and the name of the macro. Once you have a macro generated, you can create a part number with this macro as it

I use both Electric P8 and ProPanel. Both are part of the same platform EPLAN. Ask yourself what you need? I personally would always opt for a maximum of features. You can combine ElectricP8 with a Propanel add-on if you need to edit older projects with 2D panel layout. If you are ready to go only 3D panel layout, start with Propanel stand alone and add PLC Add-on included in Eleemnt Select +, Cogineer, Element Professionnal;+, Fluid Add-on and Preplanning Add-on. If you need to detail out Harnesses then also consider adding Harness ProD
