This video shows "Family Guy" creator Seth McFarlane accepting an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and delivering remarks. MacFarlane graduated from RISD 1995 with a BFA in Film/Animation/Video.

This was 2007, according to RISD's Recipients of Honary Doctorates page. I, too, thought this was from Sept. 2001, but was a little suspicious because why would they be having a Commencement in September when graduation is May/June.
