Definitely a solid piece. I’m with you on the dial layout…different but not way out there. The handset just dazzles against this dark blue, too.

Terrific review 👏 I love thus watch, and the way the movement was adjusted to work all the complications is outstanding. EPOS has a huge catalog and also makes terrific divers and sports watches. Not so known in the US but absolutely worth exploring as they make terrific pieces. Thank you for sharing and for your comments and thoughts 👍

Yes, I’d like to get a diver in to show you sometime. Beautiful catalog and definitely well built. Pride is Swiss watchmaking is still alive with EPOS!

I have looked and from their Sportive Collection I really like: * 3441DD day/date * 3441 date * 3504 diver * 3443: more of a sports watch The 3441DD is a bit divisive because of the positioning of the day window rainbow style arching between 9pm and 12pm, but I love it. All of their pieces come in different colors and strap options. The more I look the more I like their watches, and prices are very fair for the specs, quality and Swiss Made 👌

The 3441DD is my favorite! I think Josh at The Town Watch did a review of that one. Killer looks. I love the day complication layout! Blue dial with yellow hands would be my color selection.

Not a big segment for me too. I like sport watches that I can dress up on the rare occasion. I’m wondering if different strap choices might dress this down? Choices could be limited by the screwed lugs/bars though.

Bering an amateur astronomer, I find this watch comprised of everything I desire in a watch. It's dis[plays the moonphase, month, day, date, hours, minutes, seconds and LUME!. I find the accuracy a little under whelming though at 5.4 seconds a day. Also, the lug to lug seems like it's made for a larger wrist. What is your wrist size?

It's beautiful, right?! And very unique for this category. Yes, the lug length is a little long, but I also like that it's a larger watch compared to what would normally be offered in this style. I have an 8" wrist, so these measurements are very comfortable for me...I realize it may be too big for more slender wrists. Regarding the accuracy, it's just one watch and only my hand timing, but that's within chronometer specs...fantastic for this mechanical movement!

I like the dial of the Big Moon variation as well, but this one has a quiet amount of quirkiness that I enjoy!

The 3440 Big Moon is just a little less “modern” looking. The day/date/moon phase complications aren’t labeled on the dial. I believe the lume is identical.

Yes, excluding the crown. I hear ya…I think this is a dress watch for those with larger wrists (many dress watches look small on us) or those that just prefer a little larger look. But you’re right, 40mm may have been a little more mass appeal.

Well, that’s a loaded question because I don’t know your tastes. But here are a couple that are fairly straightforward dials to start you on your own exploration search. For everyday the Citizen Garrison Eco-Drive model AW0050-82E. For dressier maybe the Seiko Solar SNE529?

No, that’s there! This is a production model. It’s just a modern design flair. Check out towards the very end of the video and I show a variation that omits those complication labels. That watch is called the Big moon. Pretty similar.
