Absolutely love the end result however I think I would have left the metal ring around the outer perimeter it would have looked nicely rustic

Hi Bryan, thanks!! We really liked this one too. To do with the metal would be really difficult in combination with Epoxy.

Beautiful craftmanship, I personally would kept the steel ring around the edge as an accent. But I'm not the one with the channel lol. I liked the outcome, keep them coming.

Looks great. I have to say, I’ve never seen anyone use cardboard before as a mold. If you want to save time and have something you can reuse then try landscape edging. I use it for circle moldings and it works great.

Doing something similar with stabilizing wooden drums doing a cobber powder mixed epoxy in the holes then ill grind it down and give it a light top coat finish. The card board thing you did. Is something ill copy much better idea than what i was doing.

Great project you are going to make. Don't forget to tape all of the cardboard with packing tape, that way you can easily get the Epoxy off of the cardboard!

I made similiar job putting 3-4 layers of the epoxy resin, but the surface is not smooth enough - few small holes in the surface made small craters. Can you advice what is better; just polishing all the surface with polishing paste or grinding it with over 320 sandpaper and cover with oil/wax or clear varnish?
@timadamsart2 жыл бұрын
I would put silicone caulk in a circle around the craters and then put epoxy in there let it cure, sanding and then polish everything or an Epoxy top coat. I hope I have helped you with this. We can always help you more with your projects, just check out our website: stan.store/weekendbuilders

Great finish. I'm looking to do my first epoxy project with a cable drum I got from work. Would you recommend anything else other than cardbord to go round the edges? It looked like it was quite difficult to remove?
@timadamsart3 жыл бұрын
Our advice would be to tape the cardboard mold well with packing tape so you can get it loose from the cured Epoxy. We forgot to pack the whole mould with tape. You can see at 04:00 that there is a line in the middle, that's where the packaging tape was, so you have to wrap the whole mould with tape.

Omdat we de rand niet helemaal goed zwart kregen met Epoxy hebben we een beetje zwarte spuitverf gebruikt. De laatste lagen zijn gewoon dezelfde Epoxy maar dan zonder pigment.

For the whole table we used Epoxy with black pigment. For the top layer we used the same Epoxy and then without pigment of course. We used this Epoxy www.mrboat.nl/mrboat-epoxy/. If you want to order from Amazon: ➤ Epoxy Resin amzn.to/2v3OFEU ➤ Epoxy Color Pigment amzn.to/2PnJhbI
