Thanks for the tutorial! Worked like a charm. I wanted to ask what your next step is when using the epoxy method? Do you sand like you would if you used mod podge, then place and decals and additional epoxy? The coating using this method is rough like the glitter, so I was just curious. Thanks so much!

It’s just the plunger wands I use to turn my tumblers. They aren’t meant to keep the epoxy out. You’re very welcome! If you’d like to know more about my wand you can watch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6jcYYCFgrJliLc

How long did you let the glitter dry before the second coat of epoxy? And did you seal the glitter first before applying the second layer of epoxy?
@SandysOrganizedChaos4 жыл бұрын
I let it dry for three hours. I do use a spray sealer, then add the second coat of epoxy.

Sandy’s Organized Chaos That is so helpful! Thank you! As a beginner the timing is what I’m having trouble with. Most tutorials say “until it’s dry” but that’s different for everything! 😁

How do you get the tumbler smooth?? When I do chunky glitter and then a layer of epoxy and sanding it’s STILL rough and bumpy, whyyy😔
@merarycastro49514 жыл бұрын
You explain the process so well! I wanted to ask you, if my tumbler already comes painted the color I will use as the base color, should I still prep the tumbler, or can I go ahead and start the epoxy glitter right on it? TIA!
@SandysOrganizedChaos4 жыл бұрын
It’s personal preference. I just epoxy over it, but some like to prep them. I’ve sold thousands of custom tumblers and have never had an issue.

I tried this method for the first time and I had a lot of the chunky glitter not lay flat. Some of the ultra fine glitter also ended up with bubbles. I wonder if I didn't add enough epoxy?

Yes, I spray it with a clear sealer and apply no less than two finishing coats of epoxy.

Hey Sandy. We are in Florida too. Which Alumilite epoxy do you use with the humid summer? And what’s the set up time. Please and thank you
@SandysOrganizedChaos4 жыл бұрын
I use Alumilites Amazing Clear Cast. I haven’t had any issues with the humidity, as far as tumblers go at least lol. It takes about three hours before I stand them up to continue curing over night before I add personalization, the the final coats

How long do you let your epoxy sit before you put it on the blank tumbler and also when you apply your epoxy after its glitterd
@SandysOrganizedChaos4 жыл бұрын
Because I’m applying the glitter to a thin layer of epoxy I don’t let the epoxy sit. When I apply the second coat over the glitter I let it sit for about 5 minutes. If I’m only doing one tumbler.

Hi Sandy. Your videos are awesome! I was wondering if you buy your Hogg tumbler in white? What do you do to prep it? Or do you just epoxy over the white? Thanks for answering my question.

It really depends on what your making. For a simple ombré I would charge $45 and for something like a peekaboo I would charge $50/55 you need to factor in your time, and materials.
