Did you guys not sand the surface before priming? Also with a heavy pour why is there a need for that top coat? Or was that just for the handprint? The sides I understand but what's the purpose of doing overtop? Incase it's damaged or gets any gouges it doesn't effect the design & easily fixable with a quick sand and clear coat reapplied again?

Other videos show you putting tape around the edges then pulling it off once it starts to setup then ooze and cover the edge. This video you just let it ooze off with no tape then go and roll over. Is there a reason for the different methods or is one better than the other?

What kind of primer and what did you spray on it after you put the epoxy on?
@LeggariProducts
@LeggariProducts 3 ай бұрын
We use a water based primer leggari.com/product/wb-primer/ and once the epoxy is poured and the design is established, the first thing we spray is 91% or higher isopropyl alcohol. This creates cells in the design and disperses the epoxy. Once that evaporates, we spray denatured alcohol to pop any micro bubbles that might be in the epoxy from mixing. This allows us to avoid torching the epoxy and the risks associated with that.

Nice job ! What product do you spray on the counter at 15:55? I am actually preparing my counter As we speak I'm sanding them but I can't seem to sand anything .. the melamine has a shine to it I've tried 60 grit 120grit Spraying degreaser What should I do to get melamine ready before epoxy?
@LeggariProducts
@LeggariProducts Жыл бұрын
Hello! Some surfaces are easier to prep than others. Typically, if the surface is not affected by sanding, the Primer will still be enough to prep the counter for epoxy. Please contact our customer service for more in depth instruction on how to use our products and prep your project. support.leggari.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Make sure you investigate how to put an undermount sink on a formica countertop. If it gets wet, which it probably will, it will expand the mdf or plywood and the sink will drop. We looked into the undermount sink and ended up going with a Karran Quartz drop in sink because it had great reviews and we didn't want to take any chances with the water getting into the old countertop and making it fail.

I dont think its anything you did wrong, you seem like you know what you are doing for sure...but the product and end result looks terrible to me, I dont know why anyone would wanna have that done. What does a reno like this cost? How do you price competitively, it cant be the price of new laminate counters because obviously someone would just by new ones, there are so many better options that are cost effective, wood etc that I dont know how you would price this service to entice people to have it done.
