This is a requested video from the lovely Louise. In this video I show you the process of making the ink drop hearts that I have started selling on Instagram.
I also feel like I have done better hearts .. but as soon as the camera is turned on .. I am not 100% happy with 100% of the hearts .. but some will certainly make their way on to my Instagram page to be sold.
I am using Craft Resin .. I am an affiliate of Craft Resin and there is 10% off for you at checkout if you follow my link:

I have also put a list together of all of the tools and moulds that I have used and purchased. These are affiliate links and others are available. I would always recommend these but also recommend you do your own research.

Hi again, as a long time user of Canon (over 50 years and 6 cameras) I have never had a problem with the batteries. I am assuming that this is what you are talking about, if so you can get a side mount that allows you to have an extra battery and plenty of power. You are using the Canon batteries and not a cheap knockoff; also let the batteries totally discharge so they do not get memory problems.
@ClairesCraftyCorner
@ClairesCraftyCorner 4 жыл бұрын
Heyyyyyy John ... thank you so much xxxx no .. the battery on it is amazing ... I am having major issues with the focusing .. it struggles to focus on what I'm holding in front of it ... Or if I'm doing some flat work ... it struggles to focus looking down . Like in and out of focus all the time ! I guess I could read the instructions xx lol

@@ClairesCraftyCornerIt sounds like a lens problem, if you are using the kit lens that came with the cameras, may I suggest a “nifty fifty” lens it is for portraits but it makes a good foreground les and the good news is you can pick up a new one for about £50, and that is cheap compared to other lenses.

So darn cool! I'm a big fan of the Petrie stuff, and adore your experiments. I have seen from Myriams Nature that she has drilled out the white globs on the front of her pieces, and resined over them, so that you only see the good stuff. It's a thought. And I love the one with the black swoop in the center too! Thanks!

Myriam uses a dremmel tool and kind of gouges out the white blob, cleans out the hole, and then topcoats with resin. you can’t even see the hole part.

Now that's what I needed Epoxy crafting with a happy smiling person. Great makes. Love watching these makes. See I love the black backing, it finishes the piece. Leakage looks good especially on the skulls. So glad you did my need for skulls. lol.. Lessons learnt but I did want to say the ones that are perfection in themselves remind me of stunning coral reef.. could just be me.. I think the hearts showed depth. Mistakes? no I don't think so as it is lessons that will help you to progress and those watching that want to try this craft. We all know resin is not cheap.. yes I researched my Dr said its a real no for me.. :( oh well, guess i just keep watching magical Claire..

Thanks for making and showing but heartfelt thankyou's for responding. Happy crafting. :)

you hit my thoughts on Ink sinking, I bought other Alcohol Inks, One is "Let Resins" and they have 2 types of whites one in Middle Drop two Deep sinks,s and either sinks just sit on top I did my drops right after I mixed and let sit for 5 minutes, the only Alcohol Inks that drop well is Piñata Inks, but when I been doing the balls orbs, at times the ink kinda smears on the sides, you know like runs down on the outer making it on some parts kinda hard to see, wondering if you know why? and hopefully, understand what I meant😁 but I like how Ur came out, the skull hat is Cool✌🏼

heyyyy Rom ... thanks so much .. yes I know exactly what you mean. If there is limited surface to drop ink .. like a sphere it will simply sticks to the sides on its way down .. I am not so experienced with dropping ink ... but I can fully Recommend Daniel Cooper ... he is relatively new to YT but has blown up with his ink dropping videos x

Heyyyyy Kellie .... yes the backing was another very small batch of resin with Black Pigment ... not alcohol ink xxxx just pour a tiny bit over each one to give some depth xxxx I show the process in my Skull with Alcohol ink video xxxx

Claire ~ I've tried a couple of times to make these but they don't turn out with separate colors; it's as if I stir the mixture but I don't. How long do you let the resin sit before you start adding your colors? Your hears are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

Heyyyyyy Wanda ... strangely ... I am currently back on Alcohol Inks and not getting these results at all 🤣🤣 This was Craft Resin ... and I'm currently using a diffrmerent one so I really think the resin matters. I believe I dropped the ink straight away on these. However . I am now getting similar kinda results as you .. all merging etc ... so might need a thicker resin x

If the link comes all the day through ti the front. Do you ever coat the top with a layer of resin to protect it? Or do you find it homds up fine without an extra coating? I did cabochons with in drop and they looked great but alot of white came through to the front so I did a top coating of resin afterward but Im wondering if its really necessary.
