Thank you for sharing this. I had the same issue but I found a different cause. with mine, I opened the back cover and the side covers.. found a small sensor by the gears .. it was supposed to have been mounted on a small metal plate.. it was just hangning.. so i used a zip tie.. now its working again :)

Sup King! After 3-4 years of storage I'm gonna try and revive this printer, It's telling me it's low on ink. Do you think that is the real reason or do these things just become bricks after not using them for a while? Typically the guy at the local shop told me to buy another one but I can't help to wonder if it still works. Thanks in advance.

The main reason printer wouldn't work after being pulled out of storage is the print head being clogged, try flushing it out before you do any other trouble shooting,theirs a print head unclogging kit on amazon,

The printer is busy. Wait for the power light to stop flashing before turning off the product. If you just replaced an ink cartridge and the power light is still flashing after 3 minutes, the cartridge may be installed incorrectly. ... You can continue printing, or check which cartridge is low and replace it.

I'm not familiar with the r2000, there is a epson chipset reset software, try that before you do take printer apart, you can find it free online might take some time to find, they also sell it on ebay

Try cleaning the print head, unlock print head from carrier (where you can move it freely by hand)unplug it,soak a paper towel with rubbing alcohol or windex with ammonia d, place towel under printed and leave it there overnight, if it is clogged you will see a ton of ink on paper towel,another way is to buy a ink clog system which has a hose &syringe which flushes out the print head,hope that helps, thx

how did you get the ciss to work?

You just install it as you would OEM ink and it should work, make sure you get a ciss with a auto reset chip,

How about this one. Have a 1400 converted it, did some print head cleanings until it was clear. All worked fine, today was ready to put my dtf ink into new cartridges and figured let me do one more cleaning. Cleaning ran , but then i noticed printer is making a beep noise and won’t power on. What did i do wrong ? Now is the fried ? Can it be fixed ? How can I avoid this on my next printer ?
