Does this have a duplexer to automatically print on both sides of the paper?

For not a great deal more, you can buy the 5100 series. Since no-one uses fax anymore, the 5170 meets pretty much all SoHo needs, with print quality being "exceptional for the price". If you DO need fax, it'll be far cheaper (and easier) to use pc-based fax software via your desktop machine.

I have one of these printers coming and was wondering something. I want the printer to be attached via ethernet, but I still want the option to print things out from my android phone. Will it do both? The printer I currently have can be connected ethernet OR wifi, but can't do both. Can you test it out and see if it will work. Thanks.

Yes. You can do both. The AirPrint (at least on the Mac side) is fine regardless of whether you use WiFi or Ethernet. I don’t have android so I can’t test.

when the wifi is an extension of your LAN (ethernet) network, your mobile phone should find the printer when the phone is connected to the wifi.

Are you talking about mailing labels? If so, yes. But not sure about other formats.

You can print stickers with this printer, I have the et4800, however it's terrible at printing on heavy card stock. I've been looking at getting a Canon g630 instead.

@@ari4070 I bought an ET-8500, and then regretted it. Still has a problem printing on heavy card stock. Although the card feeds through ok, it leaves marks on the print when printing on photo quality card. I've tried multiple card stock, and tried all the tips on the web and still have the problem. I wish I'd gone for the Canon now.

How can i close the top back after installing ink i dont want to break the hindge

It’s been great thus far. The best thing is, I haven’t had to replace any ink! It seems to last forever!

We've got the 5170: No fax (since it's been over a decade since we used one of those), however there's numerous fax programmes out there, and of course Office supports eFax services, so if you're using Office, you DON'T need a printer with fax capability.

Haha I guess that would help. Obviously the printer has a variety of output quality setting. And it depends on the type of paper being used. For fast prints, it’s quite good! For high end glossy photos, you may be pushing the edge of it. If your use case is for just a standard office or student, it’s great. For a photographer, you may want to go a bit more higher end.

The worst printer I have purchased into my 30 plus years of working with computers. Stay away of this complicated non worth it printer. It is not fast as you need to search how to do work with it each time y0ou wish to scan, copy, or print with this ET 4850. EPSON SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS NEVER AVAILABLE WHEN YOU NEED SOME HELP AND THER IS NO FREE HELP TRYING TO PRING WITH THE PRINTER IS TIME CONSUMPTION. WITH NO RESULT

My guess is that you returned the printer and got your refund. Is that right? Maybe a cartridge printer will make sense for you.
