I've been using the Epson picture mate 240 for more than 10 years now, and they still print excellent pictures in less than a minute. I'm pretty sure that the newer ones print faster with the same quality. You can't go wrong with any of the Epson picture made products.

Hi Mike... thanks for the great video... we are photographers and we use Canon 5D MarkII cameras... we have had clients ask for the ability to offer prints on site.. so we are exploring this.. can you tell me if I use the card in the slot and it comes up.. after I print if a customer wants to buy extra.. can I go back and print more and select amount to print? Or is this an option while having it hooked up to a laptop.. I see several people said something about the card being cleared after printing.. so if you print from a computer does it automatically save the images on your computer so you can either print more onsite or give them a card so they can access an online gallery to order more from home etc.. Thanks

These printers are much faster than the new 400's. I have heard the internal RAM can be expanded by adding a Cm or SD card to prevent the printer from slowing down! Have you seen or heard how to expand it?

Hi i just wanted to say i loved your review. But i was debating between the picturemate 225 and the picturemate 260 but i cannot find any reliable comparisons between the two and i was wondering if you had an opinion on the 260. I am mainly going to be using it on the go so i will be purchasing a battery for them for small photoshoots and gatherings. All i know is that the 260 is lighter by almost 2 pounds from the specs but is it worth going the 260 over the 225? Thanks in advance!

Someone uses this exact printer in a photo studio to print out the passport sized/stamp sized photos and the quality on them is great so I just came on youtube to look at the printer and its workings myself. I would buy it if I had a use for it and I think there are 3rd party paper and ink for this one as well..

Mike, can you please provide some feedback on the battery life. I am going on a missionary trip to Gracias, Honduras and was thinking about taking the PM 225 with me to give out pictures to both kids and families alike. I wanted to know how is the speed, and how long does the batter last with one charge. Thanks in advance.

Hi Robert, for traveling purpose I believe this printer is a great size. I’ve not had a chance to test the limits of the battery yet, every event I’ve done has had power for me to use. In my video you see it taking over a minute to produce a print - this was not the case once the printer is going. I was able to tether my camera to LR - run a preset for quick editing - crop as needed- export, then print directly to the printer. It really worked out great. According to Epson’s web site one person noted the battery lasted "3-4 hours”. Hope this helps!! --- > www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/jsp/Product/Specifications.do?sku=C11CA56203&BV_UseBVCookie=yes

Mike, thank you very much. I think we are going to purchase two for the trip. You said your camera was tethered, was it USB2 or USB3? I know the printer has USB2, I thought USB3 couldn't hurt. Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions.

Robert F Morrow I used my USB2 port without any problems. Hope you have a great trip!

Mike, do you by chance know what camera's will work with this printer? Brands and or models?

After you broke in this printer a bit, how fast was it able to print out photos? Was there a big wait time? I'm looking for a new printer for events - where I can print photos out on the spot. I was using a regular home printer (Kodak Hero 7.1) It worked fine and got the job done but started to lag at the end of a 3 or 4 hour event. Now it has reached its usage limit as it isn't working anymore after 3 years of having it.

+Charnice Hale I’m not sure why it took so long that first time. I’ve done “photo booth” event with this printer where I tether my camera to my laptop so I can run the images through Lightroom for some quick editing, then print directly from my computer to the printer. Once it fires up I’d say the average print is 30-40 seconds. I’ve had this thing going for 3-4 hours non-stop, it’s a little workhorse!

Sounds good to me. Thanks.

Hey, a couple of things, first, how much was it? and second, can I connect my computer or memory stick to it or is it just by an SD Card?
@mikechristopher67388 жыл бұрын
+Andrea Hernandez I don’t remember how much I paid (think it was under $200). I think they are discontinuing this model, and coming out with a new one…. Yes you can hook up to your computer - I’ve done this many times. It doesn't have a slot for memory cards.

An original Epson ink cartridge prints the average number of photos? Thank you
@mikechristopher67389 жыл бұрын
+João Wesley I’ve gotten the full 150 photos from an ink cartridge. I was getting a low ink warring at the end, but still got good prints. But, I have noticed if you have a lot of dark color(s) in all of your shots, you will not get the full 150 prints.

You think that it can be configured to print photos 2 x 5?
@mikechristopher67388 жыл бұрын
+arturo castillo I don’t think so, as they only sell the ink with paper (as a package). They just came out with a new on - the PM 400, that will do different sizes, but not 2x5. It will do 3.5x5, 4x6 or 5x7.

when printing from an sd card after printing i no longer had the file on sd card...any thoughts on this???
@mikechristopher67388 жыл бұрын
+Bobbylee “pcp class” Wargula Wow, I don’t think that has ever happened to me when I’ve used an SD card to print directly. I know when I tether my camera to my computer so I can run it through LR, then print - no images will be saved on the SD cards in my camera. The only thing I can think of is maybe you pulled the card out while it was still reading / accessing it so it corrupted the data….
