In The Shadows - The Mosquitos (Record Release Party at Arlene's Grocery)

I'll MEET YOU TONIGHT: A video from The Mosquitos Record Release party last weekend in NYC. The show celebrated the official release of the band's long-awaited catalog on CD (vinyl soon!). Arlene's Grocery was packed with guest stars and old fans all grooving to stellar DJing by Connie T Empress of the late great Empire State Soul Club. Despite only having 3/5 of the band present (the other two actually had gigs that evening), it was amazing to hear those songs brought to life again. That was in part thanks to Cupid's Nemesis, the young backup band for the evening. Their visible excitement in playing these songs made the evening not just an homage, but a small taste of what the band was like in its heyday. It was a fitting way to close out the bands legacy. Get the CD from bandcamp already!
