I'm using their Singleband, Multiband Compressor and Limiter on a regular basis. Good company. Fair prices, no social media BS and state of the art DSP programming. Thumbs up to Jeroen Breebaart.

Toneboosters is an underrated company. I love their multiband compressor and it replaced the Lindell MB compressor on my master buss. I've thought about trying out this EQ but I also have FF Q3 so not sure if it's that radically better. I do like the ability of the different types of eq.

The big benefit would be the extra filters with the transients, ambient and so on. Soundwise no benefit whatsoever. If you dont need these extra filters, there's no need to get this one.

Since I don't have ProQ3 nor Split EQ, this one is very intérêt to me as I sometimes needs to EQ up/down roominess, sustain or transients. And the price seems right to me. Good job Tonebooster!

I like ToneBoosters. Affordable plugins that punch above their weight/price 🥳 Been using their stuff for quite a few years. The Tape plugin v4 is especially awesome imo, very realistic if you adjust the settings right.

Btw I glazed over some of the functions like ambience/peak and your video has brougth them back to my attention. Now I remember I've used the sibilance function on a track as well, it has so many great functions packed into it that it gets easy to forget what it can do.

If this had analog EQ models per band it would be the perfect swiss army EQ. In any case I'm adding it to my Black Friday folder because it looks great and really easy to use/powerful.

@@paulmisty8998 I'm going to answer your question in good faith despite the tone. Kirchhoff for example has models of analog EQs per band, which mimic the slope, phase, and harmonic interactions of classic analog EQs like APIs, etc... I might agree that modeling linear distortion for EQs is a bit handwavey (especially when doing dynamic processing), but I do find myself reaching for certain EQ modeling plugins I have for special parts of the arrangement, specifically vocals. I often find it does enough to add some nice texture and flavor to a sound, or perhaps round it out. It would be nice to have that on hand in one single plugin with this as well.
@ArtoftheDial
@ArtoftheDial 3 ай бұрын
@@paulmisty8998 I'm guessing it is the idea that this Pro EQ does not have any saturation options. Some people equate both the eq curves with Analog eq modeling along with the harmonic saturation (which is usually extremely low). I do think it is interesting they didn't include any Saturation adjustment option given the crazy amount of other features of this EQ.

That's a great EQ indeed. Doesn't match Kirchhoff for dynamic duties, but sounds much more natural for transient EQing than SplitEQ and the "match" function is a time saver for stems that's just amazing.

As much as I like Toneboosters, features such as transient/tonal crossover processing have been in MeldaProduction arsenal for years, it's nothing new. The user interface is a treat for the eyes, though, loving it.

Toneboosters EQ4 has been my goto EQ forever. When I found out about this one I tried it right away, but it may be an upgrade in some parts, it feels more like a sidegrade. It has some cool filtering and dynamic options, which can even be used creatively. What I really expected from a pro-edition was stuff like lineair phase EQing, or dynamic EQing based on alternative frequencies. It also loses things like coloring, and detailed compression settings. I may still get it, but I'm not sure yet. Luckily there's no real limit on the demo.

What do u mean by Alternative Frequencies?
@brokko_le3
@brokko_le3 3 ай бұрын
@@SomberSkies_000 There's probably a better term for it, but what I mean is: dynamic EQ's like Nova GE, Kirchhoff, the free ZL Equalizer and with some tinkering even Shade can internally sidechain from a different frequency than the one being EQ'd. This means they allow you to dynamically EQ an upper frequency based on bass output, for example.

@@timzbeatzinternational7755 I don't know SplitEQ, but took a glance at their website product page and for me it's obvious SplitEQ plugin is no match for the flexibility that MeldaProduction's multiband plugins offer. Not only you get exotic crossovers (like Tonal/transient, Panorama, Spectral, Level), but they are all very customizable - if you are willing to put some effort you will be grateful you have chosen Melda. The limit with them is truly your imagination. I bought their MXXX license when it was on deep discount and now don't need any other plugins anymore (that doesn't mean I don't get any, occasionally, haha).

But will it change anything? Another EQ, compressor, saturation plugins... it won't change anything. The computer's memory will run out and there will be no music. 30-40 years ago there were no "amazing plugins" - and what? I know that some are cool. And we don't have the money to buy stationary compressors, reverbs, etc. But the ear and the heart - that's what matters. Best regards!

The Cloths we wear just covers us but we like to have the choice of all the different styles and types. Idk to me this seems to bring a ton of new ideas to the typical toolset. I watch this video, I’m thinking about the day mixing ahead of me… and yeah this stuff is quite real. I think the difficult part of this isn’t in how to use it but rather it brings so much to the table that I have to consider that there is this tool now that can solve problems this way.

*No it's not clean. And they aren't null. Watch the meter there not -inf. and this in practice wiil affect complex signals very audible. All this "clean EQ's" are eating the transients and make your raw input sound "digital" and fake. It's not subtle on really decent monitoring. NOT expensive bi-amped speakers what everybody call a "studio monitors" - decent monitoring with precise impulse characteristics. Blind test it on short sounds with proper gain match. New features in EQ PRO are great. But quality of DSP is on the low. I cannot find ANY EQ plugin that can preserve whats was and enhance it. All they still transients speed from input signal. The worse only digital saturators.*

@EmadeesMusic 2 ай бұрын
@@MEMFISAKA Not sure if I believe you, but interesting take. Do you find this to be the case only when boosting or also when you cut? Also, what digital eq do you consider good for retaining the original signal quality? I’ simply curious, but again; i don’t really believe in your statements here.
@NoSurrenderMuzik
@NoSurrenderMuzik Ай бұрын
@@MEMFISAKA you are right. It changes the signal just a little bit if you are listening on good speakers and have a trained ear. Thats why I use it rearly and mostly for cutting things out but I NEVER use it on drums, there you hear that change the most because of the prominent transients.
