FII Open Interest Analysis: Tricks to find what FII are buying and selling using open interest

FII open interest analysis can reveal what FII and DII are buying and selling. But it is not easy to track their movement. This open interest analysis video reveals the tricks to find the FII activity using participant wise open interest data. We have also given few examples of open interest analysis to understand the concept well.
The open interest data is very popular among derivative traders to understand the near-term price movement. The increases in open interest is simply indicates that there is more interest towards the particular contract. It is very difficult to differentiate between stronger hand and weaker hand in the given trade. But with the trick as mentioned in the video is becomes a lot easier to know what FII are buying and selling in derivative markets.
By using segment wise open interest table with details of long and short positions, we can solve the puzzle to find what institutions are buying and selling in derivative markets.

15.11.19 Index Futures FII are agressively going short on market because they have not only exited their longs but heavily created Shorts on Index futures. DII are also short on Index Futures. Result : INDEX MAY SLIDE IN COMING WEEK.

@@reinercraja Buddy it's very simple. Download the participant wise open interest.csv file from NSE site. You will find that file under daily reports, derivatives section. Download everyday and study that. You will know where all the participants are active on that day and note down everyday so that you will understand the big picture.

Super sir. 15.11.19 FII booked the long and selled more in index. DII very less. Pro taken long and booked the short . Retailers are indecisive they went in both directions. Entered long as well as short. Here short is more So everyone in short. We need to check increase in oi for short. To check further.

Sir....First I offer my gratitude for your teachings _/\_ On 18 NOV for :- 1. Index Future - FII & DII are creating short positions. 2. Index calls - FII & DII have shown subdued interest. 3. Index Puts - FII's are majorly long on puts. Dii's are long on puts. Overall a very bearish sentiment in the short term perspective. I would also like to ask how much of importance can be given to position taken by PRO's. For Clients I usually replace it word with "Fools" and then read the data. Also explain the importance of DII's because many times Govt ask the DII's to go long in crashing market to arrest the fall...Is that true ? So how reliable can their data be ?

Hi....would like to point out certain areas, where I guess there are some minor mistakes. Please correct me if I am wrong...At 11.15, it was mentioned that Mr. A becomes "no seller"...It should have been "A becomes a seller"...Likewise, at 12.02, it should be "nothing happened today with respect to Mr. A's short position and Mr. B's long position" . Also 13.15: it is said that only "B" is in the market.. Actually, both A and B are having positions in TCS and haven't closed the positions yet, so both are in the market as well. I really appreciate the effort that you have taken for this video. Your presentation was crystal clear and as always with utmost clarity. Thank you so much.

Explanation is good so far, A suggestion, i may be completely wrong. As you have created your own analysis table , it would have helped your web users, if there was a colour coding for the stronger FII short data or FII long data., Or if colour coding is difficult, add a separate coloum with + or - symbol which signifies your logical view.

THANKS A LOT My only observation is that - This OI movement is coupled with Price action .. Generally when OI is increased Price also increases.. Hence this becomes multi dimensional analysis .
