[Intro] I'll breathe you in with smoke in the backyard light We used to laugh until we choked, into the wasted nights It was the best time of my life, but now I sleep alone So don't, don't, don't wake me up, cause my thrill is gone Say I'm wrong in the sunset turning red behind the smoke Forever and alone Yeah [Verse 1] And you've gone and sewn me to this bed The taste of you and me will never leave my lips again Under the blinding rain I wanna hold your hand so tight, I'm gonna break my wrists And when the vultures sing tonight, I'm gonna join right in [Chorus] I'll sing along, (Oh, oh, oh) Because I don't know any other song I'll sing along, but I'm barely hanging on No, I'm barely hanging on By the time you're hearing this I'll already be gone And now there's nothing to do but scream at the drunken moon [Verse 2] This isn't fair, no, don't you try to blame this on me My love for you was bulletproof, but you're the one who shot me And goddammit, I can barely say your name So, I'll try to write it and fill the pen with blood from the sink Woah. Oh But, don't just say it, you should sing my name Pretend that it's a song because forever, it's yours And we can sing this on the way home [Chorus 2] I'll sing along, (Oh, oh, oh) Cause I don't know any other song I'll sing along, but I'm barely hanging on No, I'm barely hanging on By the time you're hearing this I'll already be gone But, there's nothing to do, but tear my voice apart There's nothing to do, but scream at the drunken moon

For those asking. The video shows how a happy relationship turns toxic. In the beginning she makes him food that he didn't like then she pushes him away. He sees that she's giving up but he is still trying to save the love that isn't there for her. Him taking off his work clothes one at a time shows how he is changing and getting to the point where he would stop trying. And at the end she sees that she might actually loose the only thing she has and now tries to keep him around. He is already given up on what was there. Him putting on his jacket shows how he changed and wasn't going to let her get to him any longer.
@livingdebris6 жыл бұрын
Jayden Bergensom I always thought that the whole point of the video is that the guy thinks that his wife is the reason their relationship is going down the drain and he imagines reasons why (i.e. the cooking, the not paying attention to him, the going out without him, and the apparent cheating). All those were fake images of her, which is why she seems to appear different in every scene. The only time it's really her is the beginning and the end, but it's actually him that isn't letting the relationship work. At least that's what it seems to be

there's always poetic license with music videos like these. I feel that the girl only really realized how much the guy cared after dragging him through the dirt. She neglected him. The biggest crime she committed was that she got caught. She got caught taking the relationship for granted because no matter what she tried to do, he'd let it slide because even if it made him angry, he still somewhat loved this girl, and this constant toxicity between them turned the guy into someone different. She tries to salvage the relationship at the end but the guy isn't having it. She's lost him. She didn't try hard enough to keep him in the relationship aside from a last ditch effort at the end.

One thing I respect about this video is the use of a woman using a man. You see a lot of things about men using women, but this really shows the more vulnerable side of guys, I guess.
@ghorhams10 жыл бұрын
It's nothing like that. It's talking about men thinking of all these crazy things. For example the wife is the victim and the husband is the enemy. In the first scene, you can see she's happy to see him. Then they go inside, she acts like if he was a piece of shit, making him a bad dinner, which the woman made for him with all her heart, and he didn't like. The next part, the wife was probably talking on the phone about some arrangements she wants for her and her husband. She had to hang up cause he was coming, and he starts to think that she's cheating on him. And hallucinates the scene. At the time when she's dressed nicely, she might be going to pick something up or someone's party. And he thinks he's going off to see another guy. By the second to last scene. The woman is probably gone and he enters the bathroom. He starts to illusion her with the man. And what they're doing. Cause remember, she had already left. So he might have spend a long time in the bathroom. Then he went out and saw his wife all dressed sexy and shit just for him. And he thinks of all the things he thought of and leaves her.
@bubblegumgurl2110 жыл бұрын
ItzTimeForGaming That's not how I interpreted it. What I saw was a wife who only married for status while neglecting her husband who clearly thought he was in love with her.

@nicolestar0710 жыл бұрын
ItzTimeForGaming you have good insights, sir. However, the lyrics of the song simply goes along with the music video. Without digging too much, it simply shows the coldness of the woman to her husband who works hard. Although I think both parties have contributed to their awful situation as seen in the stairway, they both mumbling the lyrics, "don't you try to blame this on me". :)

WHY WOULD THERE BE A LEATHER JACKET ON A CLOTHESLINE IN THE SUN
@strawberrymilkyheart57994 жыл бұрын
There are certain types of leather jackets where there’s fabric on the inside
@msn-3604 жыл бұрын
it's very rare to find a purely leather jacket. even if the lining on the inside isnt made out of fabric, probability says that the pockets are because leather pockets are dumb.

Lyrics: I breathe you in with smoke In the backyard lights (backyard lights) We used to laugh until we choked Into the wasted nights (wasted nights) It was the best time of my life But now I sleep alone So don't, don't, don't wake me up 'Cause my thrill is gone And the sunsets turning red behind the smoke Forever and alone Yeah And you've gone and sewn me to this bed The taste of you and me (you and me) Will never leave my lips again Under the blinding rain (blinding rain) I wanna hold your hand so tight I'm gonna break my wrist And when the vultures sing tonight I'm gonna join right in I'll sing along 'Cause I don't know any other song Woah, oh no I'll sing along But I'm barely hanging on No, I'm barely hanging on By the time you're hearing this I'll already be gone And now there's nothing to do But scream at the drunken moon This isn't fair (no) Don't you try to blame this on me My love for you was bulletproof But you're the one who shot me And goddamn it I can barely say your name So I'll try to write it and fill the pen With blood from the sink Woah-oh But don't just say it You should sing my name Pretend that it's a song 'Cause forever it's yours And we can sing this on the way home I'll sing along 'Cause I don't know any other song Woah, oh no I'll sing along But I'm barely hanging on No, I'm barely hanging on By the time you're hearing this I'll already be gone And, now, there's nothing to do But tear my voice apart Nothing to do And scream at the drunken moon

This song randomly got suggested on Spotify and I did forget about it for sooo long. But some seconds in I knew the whole lyrics again. Ptv was a big part of my teen years and especially this song secretly remained in the back of my head.

when it says "my love for you was bulletproof but your the one whoshot me" really hits hard. i've been stabbed in the back, gaslighted, manipulated, and eventually sexually assaulted by someone i thought was my best friend. i only stayed bc he threatened suicide, but it was all only for attention but i didnt wanna leave bc i thought he might do something. Pierce the Veil was definitely one of the few things that kept me from snapping, especially when HE told ME that he didnt wanna be friends anymore bc he thought i'd changed

This entire album gives me so much nostalgia back to when I first got obsessed with it. It was during probs the worst point of my unhappiness before I got help and all, and in the winter. But I can remember this album just related to me so much. This band in general had helped me more than any other to overcome myself. I wish I could tell them that. ❤❤

To all the pierce the veil, sleeping with sirens, and black veil brides fans I need your help. I absolutely love the bands named on top and my parents say this music is hateful. And they don't want me to listen to it, what they don't understand is that this "angry music" has saved me from going into depression when I felt like I had no one. So I need all the help I can get to convince them that this music is amazing and can save people's lives. That's where I need help, I need help getting evidence so if this music has changed your life for the good please tell me, you don't have to tell me how but please just help me. Because I hate the judgement I feel like I'm getting from them.

I honestly wouldn't have made it without these bands and their songs they are not hateful they tell stories. I'm only in 10th grade but I have been through more than some people can imagine and I continue to go through a lot. My point is there is so much hate and evil in this world but these bands and these songs are not like my favorite song right now is Stomach tied in knots by sleeping with sirens and its helping me get through the stress of trying to make it and be someone I'm not because my family cant accept me for who I am and because of that because they try to take away the things that make me who I am I have had severe depression and cried myself to sleep most nights and I'm so sorry for what your parents are doing it isn't right for them to pass judgment without opening their minds I really hope this helps if not drop me a reply I'll be willing to share more

These bands aren't hateful at all! They have helped me get through a lot of tough times in my life. I can't imagine a world without them in it. There songs are meaningful unlike the crap that plays on the radio. They saved me from so many tears and honestly i'm here because of them

ADreamWithinADream17 These bands had made me who I am and I thank them for everything they had done and everything they will do. They were there when nobody else was, called me and made me feel beautiful no matter what,and taught me about the world and how good/bad it can be. These people they call "Satanic" and " bad influences" are one of the most caring, genuine people I know. Without these people and their music, there is no me.

I think the act of him stripping himself of his outfit Is symbolic of the main character detaching more and more from what he believe (I think it’s safe to assume) the love of his life, as it shows her hanging up his old attire to “dry” signifying that he left his old ways to change into this individual that was able to get a white collar job it looks like, provide shelter and a good life for his partner but as she hurts him time and again he slowly strips himself of the identity that holds him to his partner, eventually reverting back to the man he was before he met her at the end of the video, but that line about him being the one that shot her idk what he did to make her so spiteful and detached first, one can speculate

Reminds me of being a freshman in high school & being in love with my unattainable best friend. We had good times though man. Miss being in high school. Best of times worst of times. Also reminds me of my dear four friends who referred to our group as the “wolf pack”. We were so nerdy we each decided we “were” a member of the band. I was always Jaime, for the record. Jaime rocks the hardest.

In 8th grade on Id stay up late listening to music on youtube and this song was one of the go to's. Funny being an adult 10 years later, going to college, and staying up late listening to all the old songs I use to do the same thing with. I guess some parts of us just never change, especially this music that brought us all joy and now brings us nostalgia. Much love to all.
