What doesn't kill you
Makes you wish you were dead
Got a hole in my soul growing deeper and deeper
And I can't take
One more moment of this silence
The loneliness is haunting me
And the weight of the worlds getting harder to hold up
It comes in waves
I close my eyes
Hold my breath
And let it bury me
I'm not alright
And it's not ok
Won't you drag the lake
And bring me home again
Who will fix me now?
Dive in when I'm down?
Save me from myself,
Don't let me drown
Who will make me fight?
Drag me out alive?
Save me from myself,
Don't let me drown
What doesn't destroy you
Leaves you broken instead.
You know that I can't do this on my own.
Directed by Jacob Printzlau. Production company: The Wœrks.

I’m so incredibly proud of you. This was my crying song when life was shit but I know one day I would come back to it again and be able to connect to it in a different way. I haven’t watched or heard this song in almost a year or so and this your comment made me incredibly happy. I too can finally relate to it just like you. I’m so proud of you.

Turning 31 this year, and both my parents are no longer with me, I lost my dad in 2013 and my mom in 2022. I get depressed at times and have anxiety attacks from the fear of how I’ll go through life without my parents. I come back to this song to help me through my lowest mental points and it helps me push through. Appreciate the time you have with your loved ones, and love one another. ✌🏽

Man, this comment really moved me. I never comment on youtube, but here we go. I'm 35 now and lost my mother without any warning in 2014 and my dad took his life in 2020 at the heigt of the damn covid catastrophe and the uncertain future that came with it. I feel horribly lonely at times. Asking myself how the hell I "should do this on my own", as the lyrics of the song go. It's hard when you have nobody to call to ask a few questions about "adult life", that you feel you have no answer to. Stay strong brother. We're young and I'm sure we still got the best ahead of us! And yes, appreciate the time you have with your loved ones, everybody!

Turned 26 last Oct and lost both parents in 2021. Mother in Feb and father in Sept. Same month as the others birthdays. Its been an insanely weird feeling you cant describe and that fear and anxiety is very real. I feel that too many times. Its amazing how much we realize how much our loved ones mean to us when theyre gone and theres still so much to experience with them you feel and so much life to live and lessons to learn from them. Youre not alone man and Im someone that can actually say that and mean it being still young and without either of my parents

it's killing me how much people are putting down bring me the horizon for their changes. I saw them live on the Parks and Devastation tour and Oliver Sykes literally explained that he was in rehab and dealt with an enormous struggle with addiction. When he finally got out he came to the decision that he doesn't want to scream anymore, he wants to sing. And that to me is beautiful, it takes a lot to make a huge decision like that especially where they are now. Knowing that people won't like the change, but his intentions are good and he's not doing to follow a trend or anything, he's doing to for himself. I love it.

I love the symbolism in the video that represents mental health, people having slight things but not making a huge deal out of it, and pulling themselves together again, like the eyes and invisible hand, but then every now and again someone can't cope and bursts out and makes it obvious to everyone, but can be helped
@jokerhernandez2280
@jokerhernandez2280 7 жыл бұрын
Yangy Productions the song is honestly true because some people build a wall around them selves to stay safe from the world and they only let certain people in the wall they built to keep em safe and the part " who will fix me now, dive in when I'm down, save me from myself, don't let me drown" is actually a true verse in the song because everyone has that one person that helps them, takes care of them, truly loves them, and will do anything for them.... I know I do #my bae forever and always Eddie

Well ill have to disagree with you a little. I dont know anything about the meaning of the lyrics or related to song anyway. As a long time depression patient i can totally understand people who build their walls around them. The sad truth seems to be that those who need friends and family most are never gonna get them, people who experience pain and suffering from their own train of thought shall keep those who love them in a distance 'cause they feel having problems and introducing them to the public is a weakness which leads to even more suffering and problems when they cannot talk it through with anyone. And thats what i call the true darkness. Dont judge book by its cover could be an excellent phrase to stop this jibberish :D
@Finsterbergmade1
@Finsterbergmade1 7 жыл бұрын
gosh, I never thought of that, but it should have been actually very obvious for me, cause my ex-best-friend had depressions and I didn't have them too but I was totally NOT OK. I always felt like it's me who has got to wake her up one day and make all her problems 'suddenly' disappear.... But in the end, she changed the school and didn't want to have any contacts with people she knew before (me too) I just wanted to say, that you're right but if that person doesn't realise that he/she is going to break their friends too, it is worse for them.

Middle Earth No offense, but you can't wake up someone out of depression. It's literally a mental disability. LEGIT depressed people (such as myself) have a brain that doesn't produce the right chemicals to make you have a healthy continual rotation of emotion. Only medical attention such as medicine, psychologists/psychiatrists as well as a VERY strong support system can help. It's a heavy burden on the afflicted and on those associated with the afflicted. But honestly, no one who doesn't have Depression will EVER understand. That's something they need to figure out

Alright you lot! The new record’s out Friday and we’ve just release a new edit of Drown on iTunes. Originally “Drown” wasn’t meant to be on the record but after we released it, it seemed to resonate so much with a lot of our fans and new fans alike. We felt like it needed its own place rather than being sandwiched between two albums. Hope you enjoy - Oli

Artists get no where if they stupidly decide to keep making the same music for 9 years straight just to please a couple pissy people who don't like change. Not a fan anymore? Well you'll just be replaced by a new one. No matter how appreciative they are, how amazing they are, bands always change. And if the music is good, they will just keep gaining fans, even if all the old ones leave. So suck it up and don't disrespect a band you used to like by leaving rude comments like "you suck now." That's lame.

I just realized why the drummer attacks the keyboardist. It could be either out of fun, giving that his surname is "Fish" (lol) Or may have a deeper meaning. After Sempiternal, the band decided to leave that "aggressive" sound that marked their first albums. So, becoming a werewolf, that "aggressive side" once sealed is out again, and he attacks the keyboardist because he's the new member that also had a key role in the band's transition into a "softer" sound. But, again, that side is being exorcized in the next scene, as if the band is saying something like "we have enough of this, just accept the fact we've changed". Anyway, I love the direction they took. This kind of music is really good, and it's amazing to see that good music is so widespread, compared to all that mainstream shit out there. But I also liked old BMTH. They were different, but both were good. The end.

That doesn't answer my question .-. but thank you for your input. Exorcisms are used to cast out demons from someone who has been possessed. I just saw them at "When we were young" festival. Wait until your "emo phase" was 25 yrs ago. Then its called nostalgia. Even BMTH has been around 15 yrs. If you think the years go by fast now wait. the older you get the faster they go and these songs will be your memory holders of times you forgot forever.

Oh what a surprise people complaining. I swear the metal community are by far some of the worst complainers i've ever seen. Do you order the same thing every time you go to a restaurant? no you don't because that's boring, do bands make the same music every album, no they don't because that's boring. If you don't like it listen to work by them or listen to something by someone else you like, (doesn't take a scientist to figure that one out) It's different, change isn't bad. Unbunch your panties and move along.

When I order a steak, I expect a steak. Not frozen meatloaf. People didn't become fans of BMTH 10 years ago because they wanted to listen to pop music. Mixing up your sound and structure is a good thing. Seeing the money in an entirely different genre and doing a complete fucking 180, however, is not.

What doesn't kill you makes you wish you were dead. Got a hole in my soul, growing deeper and deeper. And I can't take one more moment of this silence. The loneliness is haunting me. And the weight of the world's getting harder to hold up. It comes in waves, I close my eyes. Hold my breath and let it bury me. I'm not okay, and it's not alright. Won't you drag the lake and bring me home again? Who will fix me now? Dive in when I'm down? Save me from myself, don't let me drown. Who will make me fight? Drag me out alive? Save me from myself, don't let me drown. What doesn't destroy you, leaves you broken instead. Got a hole in my soul growing deeper and deeper. And I can't take one more moment of this silence. The loneliness is haunting me. And the weight of the world's getting harder to hold up. It comes in waves, I close my eyes. Hold my breath and let it bury me. I'm not okay, and it's not alright Won't you drag the lake and bring me home again? Who will fix me now? Dive in when I'm down? Save me from myself, don't let me drown. Who will make me fight? Drag me out alive? Save me from myself, don't let me drown. 'Cause you know that I can't do this on my own. Who will fix me now? Who will fix me now? Who will fix me now? Dive in when I'm down? Drown has Officially surpassed Pray For Plagues in terms of views on KZbin...While i find that sad, it still makes me happy that my favourite band can get 30+ mill views no matter if the genre says Deathcore or Nu-Metal/alt-rock (Or whatever you wanna call drown). I'll forever miss the good old days, but i am also looking forward to the future. Keep doing your thing guys.

This music is geared towards the kids anyway. Can't imagine their audiences having many 40 and older people for their live shows. I would bet that over 80% of their fan base is under 30 and most likely more under 20s being the majority of their audience. This pop mix stuff, especially this EDM mix pop is dominating the rock music in the mainstream. You young people can have this stuff because it does nothing for myself and many people that are 40 and older feel the same way. Too much pop in rock and also to much of this pop mix is in country music as well. Give me old school country and old school guitar driven rock music over what is now currently popular with young adults today. The new experimental music that I like from the past 2 decades are music that mixes old school genres together like symphonic metal with bands Nightwish and Epica, celtic metal from Eluveitie, celtic punk from the Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly, raggee mixed with rock and metal like Jinjer does in two of their songs, this traditional Japanese folk music mixed with western styles of music by The Wagakki Band and many other traditional old school music mixed with the traditional rock and metal genres. This electro techno programming dance mixes with rock just makes the music feel fake and these whinny voices in these modern rock bands popular with young adults today doesn't do a damn thing for me either.

To anybody feeling lost, worthless, lonely, depressed, upset, down i just want to know you're valid and you're worth it and it'll be okay in the end and i know it may not feel like it's going to ever get better right now but in time it will. You are special to someone in this world right now and there's somebody who really truly cares for you and about you somewhere. Wipe them tears, turn on that light, turn up that music. You've got this.

What doesn't kill you Makes you wish you were dead Got a hole in my soul growing deeper and deeper And I can't take One more moment of this silence The loneliness is haunting me And the weight of the world's getting harder to hold up It comes in waves, I close my eyes Hold my breath and let it bury me I'm not OK and it's not all right Won't you drag the lake and bring me home again Who will fix me now? Dive in when I'm down? Save me from myself Don't let me drown Who will make me fight? Drag me out alive? Save me from myself Don't let me drown What doesn't destroy you Leaves you broken instead Got a hole in my soul growing deeper and deeper And I can't take One more moment of this silence The loneliness is haunting me And the weight of the worlds getting harder to hold up It comes in waves, I close my eyes Hold my breath and let it bury me I'm not OK and it's not all right Won't you drag the lake and bring me home again Who will fix me now? For those of you bashing the song His last album tells a story About recovering from his addiction This song is telling about how he's still fighting "Don't let me drown" Is like a cry for help. How his demons try to come back but he's fighting it. Yes it's not the old Oli but Oli had said he doesn't want to scream he wants to sing because his screams were help from the addiction and now he's telling his story through music. Like it or not it's up to you but remember, and listen, that his music tells a tale of a man who let drugs get to him and now he's letting go, still fighting.

Ok guys i just want to put this out there. 5SOS and BMTH are two completely different bands. They produce different music and I thank anyone who realizes that should be cared about. I am a big fan of both. JUST CALM DOWN. Honestly speaking here, I've been in the 5sosfam for 2 years and I hate (most of the time) when people (usually fans of the band) just try create drama between bands. I mean, we like what we like, and can't we just all get along? That's my input. Just enjoy the freaking song how hard is it....?
