The whole album is so beautifully done. Eisley is an expert at pulling you into their world with their music. That's why I've been in love with them since I was 15 (23 now ;O).

I actually love the whole atmosphere in this song. Just enough is going on and I think it shows off their vocals well whilst keeping the instrumentation interesting and vibrant. I'm so excited for the rest of the album. I Love Eisley.

If you actually take the time to LISTEN to the melody of both songs, they sound remarkably like something related to water. Drink the Water actually starts out like you are hearing distorted voices and song above the waves, THEN you dive down into the water and it becomes clearer. The focus of this album seems to be based around the entire concept of water and it's many, many metaphors and relations. The sound is intentitional. :P

the people that are genuinely complaining about this song.. you are missing the bigger picture, now I know most of you are just voicing opinions and rightly so, but to the ones that are truly disappointed, think of it this way: This is the title track of the album and also the opening track of the cd itself. If you loved Drink The Water, then what are you worried about? Currents is the entrance and you have already seen what is inside- Drink The Water; So again, what is bothering you? I love it.

I like this song. The stuff they released after "combinations" didn't please me very much. Anything before "combinations" is the EisleyI grew up with, and I love it. This song sounds like the Eisley I grew up with

I grew up with Mosseisly too! I was 19 when I first met and heard the Duprees at church in Texas. I love how they started out with their family playing Enter the worship circle and Waterdeep stuff on Sunday mornings and saw them in Concert playing their own stuff around town. I am 35 now and still love their Siren voices. I have 2 kids now and one on the way and I plan to make sure they know what good music sounds like. Who knows, maybe my kids could grow up to be the next Eisley band with much instruction and God's help. Love, love, love you all!😘

in continuation of my rant, sucre's album is a darn great album..and it even has the "depth" that i look for when it comes to music. even the album title has (i think) a significant meaning to stacy and/or darren...."minor bird" which is a poem by robert frost.

There's definitely a certain discord to it, but for me that's what puts Eisley a step above the rest of their genre - they have the balls to do something different and experimental at the risk of some people not understanding or appreciating it. Eisley is way more metal than is ever acknowledged.

currents plural of cur·rent (Noun) Noun A body of water or air moving in a definite direction, esp. through a surrounding body of water or air in which there is less movement. A flow of electricity which results from the ordered directional movement of electrically charged particles. Hah, I think this song fits perfectly with the definition!

lol....it's definitely a hard "sound" to get used to....but you'll love it when you do since the depth in the lyrics is still there. it's more or less....an accumulation of all their "musical" experience...and definitely the touch of stacy and darren's "sucre" affecting the new album. sucre took a long time to get used to...but when i did, they instantly became my "go-to" album since it came out around 2011. it's a darn great album....

i actually prefer sounds that are more garage grade than an ap grade. it's more real less modified. i like it where it's a bit hollow too don't need no doubles vocal and it's their speciality. well, my 5 cents worth and a matter of personal preference. :)
@babybleuroses11 жыл бұрын
I have loved them since Combinations, as well as Room Noises and The Valley. I do agree that Currents has a different take compared to their previous albums. But nonetheless, I still love what I've been listening to. Hope you don't sway from them for good though.

I actually thought "The Valley" was worse in this regard. The drums sounded extremely compressed and the voices hollow. At least these are a little better now. I agree it could benefit from more dynamic range though (like 99% of the music these days). It really is a bit annoying since the album is self-produced, they could've gone all out and made an audiophile-grade release. But I guess these days I'm just glad when an album doesn't have obvious clipping or brickwalled waveforms...
