One of the best acts of ibadah that Muslim performs and many overlook is Thinking positively of Allah is meant Allah will respond when offering supplication (du‘aa’); thinking positively that He will accept one’s repentance when repenting; thinking positively that He will forgive when seeking His forgiveness; thinking positively that He will accept good deeds when doing them according to the prescribed conditions, believing strongly that His promise is true and His grace is abundant. "One day your actions will visit you, so don't be surprised when you see them." Your soul is a completed novel, yet you spend your time reading other people & wonder why you still haven’t found yourself. Happiness was asked: where do you live? It replied: in the hearts of those content with Allaah’s decree

My father married a second wife when I was like 7 (didn't last long) I have to say the house was in shambles and my mother (his first wife) was very distraught and was in tears for the first few days. (parents were only like 29 or 30 at the time) There are a few reasons why my mother was in such a state. First, my father was not giving her, her rights, second he was not providing enough for his first family, and lastly (just to name a few) he brought her (his second wife) into our already cramped, tiny house and converted the one extra room we had on the farthest part of the house (which was used as the "men section" when we had visitors) into her room. I would imagine that a woman would be very proud of her home and not be happy to have another woman intrude. To make that worse, there was a couple we knew who divorced, and the mother abandoned her daughters and left islam (happened a few times with people we knew) and the father went off to another country to marry a new wife to be a "new mommy" for his girls, he left his daughters with us meanwhile. This lasted for about a month until my father and his second wife found a separate apartment for them and it was only fit for the other two girls to go live over there. Tiny, cramped house that went from an already large 7 head family, to 10 in a matter of days, lol. A man with a big family and no money should not be marrying a second wife and should definitely have planned a bit better before marrying his first. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, but a weakness everyone can experience at some point is definitely one of falling in love, so I do not blame my parents for marrying. My point; in todays time, in this westernized culture that we live in, very few men can actually manage to practice polygamy and even fewer can treat his wives equitably. As far as I know, my father divorced her about 6 or 7 years into that marriage (or she died, because my dad would never really tell us much and was very vague) My parents also divorced after about 25 years of marriage. My mother worked full time and part time to make ends meet, because my father thought it fit to go to Thailand. Wa Allah hu'alam. May all forgive us our sins and protect us from the whispers of the shaitaan. Ameen. Edit: removed the part about Thailand.

I am sorry for what your father did to you, your siblings and your mother. This actually happens a lot in Arab/Desi culture, and almost always they blame it on Islam and call it “Sunnah” or that it’s perfectly halal. Mohamed PBUH said to be good to the wives and daughters, so that doesn’t mean going to break their heart by marrying a 1-3 women for your own views and desires. Basically abusing the privilege. Marriage is a commitment, and HUGE responsibility. if you know you aren’t ready for this commitment, do not waste anyones time. MashAllah Allahummabarik to your mother for staying strong through it all and being there for you guys. I wish you all well and justice be served. SCENARIO: you hide your second wife from your first wife. Then you have children from both. Is there not a danger in these children growing up, not knowing about each and possibly becoming attracted to one another. How is it possible to hide the second wife in this scenario? It is important the children grow up together as to not create this risk, no? In that case if the children know about each other the first wife is bound to know about the second. A question regarding this video: This video has automatically generated translations (alhamdullillah) with the option to automatically translate. While the translation is often understandable it often simply cannot follow your academic and more complex terminology (allahumma barik) thus making the translation not useable at certain places in the video. I'd like to make a german translation for this video for my german sisters because I think it could really benefit them, in sha Allah. I'd also check up many words you're using in my german grammar dictionary to be sure.

Mohammed Hijab is either clutching at straws or creating a straw man or both to try and portray sisters as the villains in polygyny and brothers as mere martyrs stuck in the toxic drama created by said “villains”. Yes, some women will not be able to accept being a co-wife even if the man follows Sharia however, it's a situation the man has to deal with with the correct adab and ahlaaq. Polygyny practised in our way of life is a MAN issue and they have to deal with it respectfully which includes being dignified, decent, transparent and honest. It’s a choice they make, not obligatory. Knowing that there may be fallout and planning on how to deal with it without oppressing their women must be considered before entering into a second, third or fourth marriage. The wife must be told of his intentions and be able to make decisions about her life. It’s common decency and not rocket science. In this instance, the reasons to point the finger at sisters are simply thin to none. Women for once cannot be scapegoated on flimsy exceptions mentioned by Mohammed regardless of what the sister in the clip is saying, not saying, implying or not implying. This guy should actually deal with the adab of polygyny directly with men rather than by putting words into the sister’s mouth and refuting sisters’ feelings about it, all the while ignoring or deflecting the role men play in the situations being discussed. FYI: a woman’s mental health and well-being is a perfectly good reason to seek divorce. Shame on you Mohammed for making it seem as if a woman has no choice or preference in her seeking divorce because she personally does not want to be in a polygynous marriage or that it’s haram for her to do so. Seeking and attaining a divorce would afford her the halal right to move on and remarry a like-minded Muslim man. Lastly, what you fail to address are the broader implications of undisclosed polygynous marriages on the family and societal unit. Or perhaps you’re just ignorant there of. But using extreme arguments such as a woman weaponising the child against the husband or her hating polygyny or women to question her iman is simply ludicrous. If a man is deifying his wife’s reaction and his feelings then that’s tantamount to perhaps erring on the side of shirk. Simply put your video and refutation are biased and reminiscent of cultural and philosophical misogyny that is not Islamic or attributed to our Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

Didn't Brother Hijab say that he is assuming the sister said something and is replying to it? In essence Brother Hijab is himself telling that he is strawmaning. Also men are not Portrayed as martyrs, no one will praise a brother for marrying multiple women. What Brother Hijab is addressing about is how men are Portrayed as "villains" for wanting a polygomous marriage. Also polygamy is not just a "man's situation" to deal with it, remember the situation arises because there are 2 or more women involved, although I get what you mean.
@KS-vm5yj
@KS-vm5yj Жыл бұрын
Also what is the adab of polygamy? A Muslim man must inform his 1st wife that he is taking a second wife but he does not need permission of the 1st wife. He should honor his wives equally and provide them food, shelter and clothing. Also please understand it is a wife's right to demand protection, clothing, food and shelter from her husband but it is not a wife's right to demand exclusivity of her husband. Also what "flimsy exceptions" are you talking about, these women speak as if polygamy is haram all the while disguising that it is halal if practiced in a proper way. Last video brother's Ali and Hijab challenged these women to tell men how to practice polygamy in a proper way. Also FYI : "A woman's mental health and well being is perfectly good reason to seek divorce". Seek divorce and do what? Raise children in a single mother household and put their lives in jeapordy because you don't feel good or marry another man who should take care of you and your children because you didn't feel good. Do you even understand what you speak about? It's like divorcing because the husband is poor and you don't feel good. My question is simple - If a husband provides for you, feeds you, shelters you and clothes you (all rights ordained by Allah) , why do you want to divorce him? Because he didnt ask your permission for 2nd permission? (even Allah didn't give women this right) This is what feminism has done. It has made women self centered and Narcissistic. Women's well being is the most important thing!!! Go gurl !!! Yass Queen!!! Women nowadays have fallen into this wrong notion of one man one woman. Islam doesn't say this. Women don't have right to exclusivity of her husband. Our prophet(saw) and Sahabas didn't ask permission from their wives not do they have to. Having said all this I would like to stress that it is the Husband's duty to inform his 1st wife that he is taking another wife. She has right to honesty from the husband. If the husband can't even tell the 1st wife about the marriage how can anyone expect him to be fair to her. Also I am not immune to the feelings of the women. I understand it must be very embarrassing to the 1st wife and the husband must be very careful in helping her deal with it. and both should work together in looking after the wellbeing of their marriage and children. But my point still remains - if the 1st wife feels embarrassed (and she has every reason to be) both the husband and wife should work together to help her overcome it, but under no circumstances should she ask for divorce if the husband takes care of all her rights just because her mental wellbeing is affected (which is a fancy way of saying she is bummed out) That's all I wanted to say sister. Sorry if I had been harsh at places but please know that my intention was right. I rarely comment in KZbin videos but your comment was so thoughtful and clever but was wrong in just in one perspective and I wanted to correct it. ASSALAAMU ALAIKKUM from India.

Now, if a man marries the woman he cheated with, it doesn’t legitimize what they did before. But also the woman can do a similar thing: divorce the man she is married to and marry the one she cheated with. So the whole point is moot. Marriage after adultery does not legitimize the adultery committed before in no way, shape or form. The men who think that are extremely wrong.

Man have you lost the plot on this one. You have not given one valid reason for hiding a relationship in 33 minutes of babbling on. Here are some of the points I would like to discuss with you brother Mohammed: - Nobody is denying the Quran, a man can have 4 wives and that is completely understandable and not arguable, a point which either was not discussed or you have not shown in the video - You are equating vegans shaming meat eaters to people who don't shame a man having 4 wives, but shame a man for having a secret wife, a matter you have failed to justify in your 33 minutes of talking. - The hadith you mentioned does not in any way encourage the fact that hiding a secret wife is completely normal and allowed, in fact I would very much argue it goes very much against one of the main principles of the same hadith which is islah between two people. I would argue that hiding a wife would do almost the exact opposite of islah. - Telling your wife that you are getting a second wife all of a sudden and getting a paper from the mosque yada yada is in fact is some shape or form adulterous. It means you have been seeing a certain woman and thinking of having a sexual marital relationship with for God knows how long in spite of your first wife. - You have focused your discussion heavily on attacking women on "not accepting the word of Allah" and doubting their Iman but you failed to discuss the other side of the coin which is the side of the men not being able to stick with the words of Allah. And that is the point of not being able to fulfill their rights fairly. In fact, men are and should be discouraged to get multiple wives. You failed to discuss the inevitable shortcomings of a man in fulfilling his wives' needs, especially the wife he was first committed to. There will almost definitely be a big change of lifestyle (typically a downgrade) for the first wife and there will almost definitely be some sort of bias towards one of the wives. A man's ability to juggle between 4 wives is nigh impossible. Not every man is as fair and just as the prophet peace be upon him. - The point of women committing polygyny upon each other through the man getting a second, third or fourth wife is a point that frustrated me beyond belief. The man is the one who married four women and is committing sexual relations with each of them. The women are only married to the man, they are not married to each other nor do they perform sexual relations with one another. - The point of "it is haram for her to smell the fragrance of jannah" is completely invalid. She isn't filing for a divorce for absolutely no reason, there is a huge valid reason which you fail to see which is hiding a whole human being which is your husband hiding a whole human being who is in a marital relationship with your husband unbeknownst to yourself! - Where is the side of shiwar or istishara that a man has to have with his wife on significant decisions that affect the both of them. The prophet peace be upon him consulted his wives on many matters, so why is it that a man when it comes to getting a second wife shouldn't find it of any importance to consult his wife on this matter and hiding her becomes a completely conceivable option without fault? - Lastly, any matter that causes a detriment to the healthy relationship of the couple should be avoided or else it would be "kharab lbeit". If a woman is not prepared to sacrifice her rights to the man especially on such a significant matter then the man is the one that should avoid it or else it wouldn't be the woman committing the "kharab lbeit" but indeed the man. Hopefully by some miracle this reaches you after two months of making the video and you would respond to it. I really want to see how you would respond to my point and see if I can change your mind or you can change mine.

Just because something is halal, doesn't mean that it's the right thing to do. Money alone is not a good enough reason to do whatever you want. FOR EXAMPLE, just because you are a millionaire, doesn't mean that it's morally OK to have 20+ children that you won't even have the time to raise and take care of. THATS why Allah created a conscious, empathy, and our use of discretion in these situations. WHICH is why we are the smartest beings on earth. Islam is not a one size fits all. OTHERWISE, there would be no Dunia and everything would be perfect. There's a Grey area in some cases. For example, if a husband have 4 wives, but all of them have very high sex drive. How can he possibly fulfill that? What part of equate does these men don't understand?? Marriage initself is a huge responsibility. Let alone trying to equate financially, emotionally, and sexually between the 4 wives. Some women have PCOS or a hormonal imbalance which triggers that high sex drive. RISKS of STDs and STIs and how it affects fertility for men and women. Is no one gonna talk about that? Some risks like HIV, HPV, Hepatitis B, herpes are permanent and you'll need medications for life. Let alone you can transmit the disease sexually to you wives and affect their fertility/reproductive health because of having more than one sexual partner. If a wife is going through a postpartum depression and can't have sex with her husband because it's painful. HOW is it morally right to marry someone else at that time ?? Postpartum depression is a real mental illness that have a VERY high rates of suicide. I'm not against Allah's words. But it should not be a common practice if the husband is fulfilled and happy with his wife. I'm a psychology student and can assure you that polygamous relationships doesn't last one bit. And the most successful long lasting marriages are monogamous. PLEASE EDUCATE yourself about basic biology and human anatomy, and psychology before claiming that it's OK for everyone without ADDRESSING all the risks and then make a conscious decision that you can face Allah with. Thank you for listening to my Ted talk :). I hope you all stay healthy and safe.

Poor guy has to wait over 36 months (have to account for how long after one pregnancy is a woman able to conceive again). Seriously imagine that. And on top of that, if the wife is pregnant for one man, that man is not going to be happy knowing her other husbands are intimate with the wife while his baby is in her womb! 😭🤢 So even intimacy will be affected. it just doesn't work the other way. On the other hand, a man with 4 wives if he is healthy, can impregnate all his wives in a single day if they all wanted children at the same time. and since they are all his children, intimacy isn't affected.

I agree with the academic points in this video, jazakallah. However, I am concerned that, unintentionally, you have in turn created shubha about the matter of divorce and khul', and humbly ask for you to clarify this matter in full and ideally retract some of the way you have framed it. Unfortunately, your assertions about not appealing to empathy were lost when considering this matter. In the last video especially and somewhat in this one, you described ideas of "breaking the home" and "impact on children", in a similar fashion and with emotive language that you have criticised others for using. Right and wrong isn't about who you love" were your words - so this applies to men and children too. A woman seeking divorce has no correlation with her love for her children, just as a man seeking polygyny has no correlation with his love for his first wife. There are many situations where a woman is seeking divorce to prevent greater sin than if she stayed. The way you have represented khul' is also incongruent with the Jumhur opinion, and also, that of the Islamic Sharia council UK, which reiterates "There is no restriction on the grounds for divorce." on its website. You gave the fragrance of paradise Hadith (goes without saying I very much accept and love this Hadith) but did not clarify the flexibility in this Hadith i.e "absolutely necessary" which can include ill feeling following polygyny. This has dangerous ramifications when considering this Hadith: (Sahih Bukhari) Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The wife of Thabit bin Qais bin Shammas came to the Prophet and said, "O Allah's Apostle! I do not blame Thabit for any defects in his character or his religion, but I am afraid that I (being a Muslim) may become unthankful for Allah's Blessings." On that, Allah's Apostle said (to her), 'Will you return his garden to him?" She said, "Yes." So she returned his garden to him and the Prophet told him to divorce her. Narrated 'Ikrima: The sister of 'Abdullah bin Ubai narrated with the addition that the Prophet said to Thabit's wife, "Will you return his garden?" She said, "Yes," and returned it, and (then) the Prophet ordered Thabit to divorce her. Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The wife of Thabit bin Qais came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! I do not blame Thabit for any defects in his character or his religion, but I cannot endure to live with him." On that Allah's Apostle said, "Will you return his garden to him?" She said, "Yes." The Prophet PBUH did not question Thabit's wife on the claim that "she could not endure to live with him" or she "may be unthankful". The way you discuss khul' risks the implication that the Prophet PBUH was too lenient in this Hadith.

Ok? Isn't it better for some with experience to speak, than some idiot with privilege to preach? Polygyny is disgusting, and so is Islam. There was no reason a 50 year old should've married a 6 year old. If it was about her life, he could've adopted her! He had so many wives that could've raised her. Why didn't he just open up an orphanage? Wouldn't it make more sense to keep the young girls at work in the orphanage than marrying them to raise their own babies! Women are capable of working, but in Islamic culture, they've always tried to keep women under. So men can be known as the ''protectors and providers'' while getting the privilege of sleeping with multiple women. We are talking about a time period where men were dying from war, and women were at home. The same thing happened during the world war.. But those women stepped up. They started working. That's what started women's rights. During this Islamic time period, why weren't the women allowed to educate themselves and work for themselves? Muslim men are always saying that women don't have to provide financially, but that's because they were not allowed to support themselves financially! They were not allowed to work. Man made religion that keeps women with a lower status. Very disgusting!
@bobby6569
@bobby6569 Жыл бұрын
And the whole ''men are the protectors'' is ridiculous. Women can be protectors and defenders as well. Are mothers not protectors of their babies? Do you think a father has more connection to his child than the woman who carried it? To men, it's simply about spreading their genes and continuing the lineage. The child's life does not matter. The child will be forced and brain washed into a religious cult, and then married off before they understand what is happening to them! But Islam teaches, that even if you aren't capable of raising a child, PROCREATION is good! It's the purpose of life! You made another muslim! God will now put you in heaven!

A lot of women have commented over here justifying the comparison saying that she was comparing the treatment of a women who committed adultery to man who does the same try and legitimize it by doing a marriage after, and seems to think this is not a problematic statement. The severity of adultery in Islam is clear cut, so can one of you explain why it was necessary to bring the treatment of women cheating into the picture (because her statement indicates she has a problem with this), rather than just mention that the man is not being subject to Islamic principles for his behaviour prior to Nikkah. In making this statement in the way it was done, she seems to be taking issue in the inequality of polygamy, rather than be seeking for Allah's ruling to be implemented equally, and a lot of the women here seem to follow similar thinking unfortunately.

That quote could've been written by a 14 year old. There's no wisdom in that quote, really

Yes the Prophet (saw) kept intimate things private and kept minor harful things private BUT HE NEVER KEPT A WHOLE WIFE SECRET FROM HIS OTHER WIVES. There is no justification for taking a secret wife and making her to agree to be a secret from existing wife. There is no excuse. This topic is very triggering and hurtful for me. Ive been harmed deeply by polygamy

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “I was shown hell. I saw that most of its inhabitants were ungrateful women… The Prophet was asked: ‘Were they ungrateful to Allāh?’ He replied: ‘They were ungrateful to their husbands and for the favors and the good done to them. If you show benevolence to one of them and then she sees something in you not to her liking, she will say: ‘I have never seen any good in you.’”
