If I didn't ride for 4 months (I just started to ride my two boys after a year of healing from a horrific fall....just saying there was blood...and alot of it) I would have lost balance alot Wich happened but luckily my horses are trained to stop and stand still whenever they feel me loose balance

I was you 945th like! (Aka the last like but I’m still proud) I ride an arthritic horse named Boomer, and he is also sore around is croup so my instructor is chiropracting him. (Yay or neigh?)

I’m in the exact same boat! I have been away at college and couldn’t fit the horseback riding class into my schedule so I hadn’t ridden in 4 months until just a few days ago. I felt like a sack of potatoes. And I’m joining the equestrian team next semester too!

I had to go 3 months without riding because the horse that I ride (I don’t go to a stable, I go to my moms friends house she has a mini and a 15 yr old quarter horse mare) and I ride her and I cantered the first time on her on Monday

well if the horse had freaked out i would have been concerned for his training. You should always teach your horse to give to pressure when he/she has stepped on his/her lead rope.

Horse nuts it’s actually not. My horse took off 2 of my fingers due to a pressure issue. Even after I thought he had learned.

@@jessilynnarlo3876 How did your horse take off two of your fingers? If you hold the lead rope "correctly" that won't happen. Your horse must have been very poorly trained to giving to pressure, lots of people think teaching your horse to give to pressure is the same way to lead is very diffrent. You put a lead rope on the halter and put your horse in a small pasture or round pen. when your horse steps on the halter he will teach hiim self to give.
