Hi, is there such a thing as wooden grab bar, placed vertically and made out of wood? I need something to hold on to as I turn the corner on my stairs. The left side has a wooden railing, but the right side has nothing where I would benefit from a vertical bar. I know you showed a vertical vinyl coated grabbar, but I wonder if there is such a thing as a wooden one. What kind of brackets would I need for that, even if there is such a thing. How far from the floor, next to door, should we install?

You want to make it a height that works best for the user. I suggest 3-4’ from the floor as a starting height then adjust based on the height and hand position comfort of the person using it.
