Chile is the last prussian bastion in the world. We have kept this prussian heritage proudly since the prussian instructors came to our country in the 1890's. Basically, they taught us their marches and they gave us their legacy. As you can see, we still keep that heritage in every parade and civic act.

Perfecto!!!

I am very glad to see that Chile upholds Prussian traditions, while having influenced them with some of their own, Chilean elements. Would one Chilean be so kind to tell me the name of the first march? Many greetings from Germany.

After three years, I answer you, it is called "Goodbye to the seventh of line" makes mension to the war of the pacific, where Chile faced Peru and Bolivia. One part says: bizarro regiment, the time of goodbye came, and when we left we all swear, we will keep the tradition, the seventh line, school and temple of value. Another part says: Goodbye to the regiment that is leaving and with respect to the dead says: they will return the souls of the heroes to swear again to their flag, they will form the most warlike ranks in gallant tricolor cloud (in allusion to our flag that is blue, Red and white)

Finished the war of the pacific one, the authorities decided to be provided with German instructors. It, immediately after the results obtained by Prussia in the war that it supported against France in 1870. In 1886, captain Emilio Körner Henze came. Its results last up to today. It is a pride to be provided with this legacy, as Otto Von Zeppelius did it in the School of Carabineers and Sir Lord Thomas Cochrane in the Navy.

if some other countries have an original uniform!!!! in this case why any comment are against chile and its traditions?.... why they dont ask to the canadian army about its uniforms?... i imagine a country with exactly 204 years free needs from an other experiences and everything for the army... of older countries or nations that were kings before.... if chilean want to continue with the prusian traditions.. isnt problem of everyone....

I understood from two other users that explained the matter. If you would have had the curiosity to read all the comments, maybe you wouldn't have replied in such a tone that not only doesn't explain anything, but reveals the purpose of your comment is to spray poison. Relax and learn a little sense and tolerance my firend. You'd be amazed at what you can accomplish with these two virtues... and if you add patience into the mix, not only will you be better as a man, but you shall have success.

and the military history of hundreds of years , which was shaped by several prussian kings, by german emperors, by wars and battles - simply cannot be copied with the exemplanation of army instructors and this hauptmann körner . sorry thats near to blasphemy.. Once again its just my opinion . I am bugged out by these stories which are true but there are definatley other causes why you guys love that german stuff so much. greetings

I really don´t want to offend you. Its just that the whole thing is a bit ridicolous. I mean you running around like germans and march to german march music which was written because of victories of the german army. For example the Hohenfriedberger which was written after the victory over the austrians. do You know what i mean? its not your history - it simply does not fit...
