Equity Guides for Decision Makers

In this video, specialist with the NRCS Equity Division offer tips on how to use the two equity guides for decision makers. One guide is designed for Programs Decisions to support integration of equity into program policy and procedure decisions, including aspects such as program rules, budgeting, prioritization, eligibility criteria, application ranking and funding, eligible practices, and more. There is also a guide designed for Grants, Agreements, and Contracting Decisions to support equity in decision-making in relation to announcements (such as notices of funding opportunities, or requests for proposals), proposal review and ranking, and recommendations and awards of funding.
Both Equity Guides were developed for agency leadership and staff to use throughout the decision-making processes - at both National and State levels - to facilitate decisions that promote equity and to monitor impacts and progress after decisions are implemented. Each guide highlights five key steps to integrate equity throughout decision-making.
