“Could be?” It already is! If I have a discussion about something, the next day I start getting advertising related to that subject. I recently was talking to a woman who had an apparent stalker and we talked about her getting a weapon for security. The next day, I had ads for a local gun range.

Our phones will eventually aid in the enforcement of laws typically not focused on because of the amount of people breaking them and the man power required to enforce every infraction witnessed, but now we have smart devices ai, cellphones, mic, gps, dozens of sensors, and cameras in every persons pocket and devices around us that log and report everything going on around it. Lot of data to go through but when the cost to benefit ratio is right you can count on it being used for the most minor things. Show me the man I'll show you the crime is gonna be very easy this time around gonna make the old KGB days look like Sunday school

Maybe nothing of interest right now, but with looming authoritarianism? Everybody disagrees with government policies at some point. Sure we have the First Amendment in the US, but what happens when somebody decides that dissent = terrorism? I hope and pray we never find out, but with some of the right's rhetoric, I'm not sure.

Do you guys know the Murdaugh case? The father killed his son and wife and the phone proof he was there. Minutes before killed the his son was with his friend dog that got hurt on his tail and was sending his friend a snap chat with the image and the father voice got recorded. The father didn’t know his son was recording. Because of bad coverage the message was sent but not received. So his friend couldn’t answer. The father then killed then right away and checked his sons phone but they were nothing because bad coverage. Not answer . The father said he was not there but the son accidentally recorded his father on the snap chat and that’s how he got caught.

I ate a KIND bar the other day and immediately got an ad for KIND bars of that flavor. I bought them over a month ago and I don't normally get ads for them. I hadn't spoken, written about, or searched for them recently. I'm going to put a sticker over my laptop camera again, because that seems like the most obvious way the KIND bar could have been detected.

Ugh. Im so sick of blaming the current or upcoming administration on stuff like this. Edward Snowden warned of this YEARS ago. Stop acting like its new and the new Presidents fault. It needs to stop either way. Maybe this democracy should have handled Edward Snowden differently. Maybe they could start with an apology.

@deanbardos1950 I'll bet someone makes them, but if they don't, I don't think they'd be that hard to make. I'm not sure, but I think of you just got like a foot of aluminum window screen, folded it to the right size and glued or stapled it, it might do the job. You could wrap it around a fabric pouch to protect your phone. Something like that.
