Then he follows up by being the responsible attending himself, and sitting down with the still combative Ruby to explain to him exactly what the likelihood is for the surgery to succeed, which no one is telling him. Completely honestly. It's one of those great Carter monologues where you're so proud of him.

Carter should of been honest but caring the whole time. The worst thing you could do is lie to your patient or make unrealistic promises. It been a while since I saw the ruby arc but I think there was a scene when ruby’s wife was being transported that ruby was concerned that she was being discharged too early. When the truth got out ruby felt hurt and betrayed.

I was glad Carby didn’t remain as close friends as they once were. I really didn’t like how he tried to sponsor Abby to death. I think in many ways when he stayed in Africa the second time after rescuing Luka, he grew up more and no longer was the Carter that annoyed me to death since he got stabbed in season 6.
