Ya know, it's funny, when I first watched ER in the 90's I couldn't stand Benton. I thought he was arrogant and stoic. I watched the series later in life on DVD long after it had been taken off the air and I saw Peter in a different light. He's actually one of the most compassionate doctors on the show. Great relationship between him and Carter too. Excellent character growth.

Benton evolved I feel, and became less arrogant with time.
@therealconniefrancis3 жыл бұрын
He's one of my favourite characters but he was indeed a little arrogant. But he was also very serious about his job. That's what i like about him. He wasn't ridiculous like Malucci or insulting like Div

It's a very different experience watching episodes 1 at a time having to wait a week inbetween episodes and being able to binge watch the episodes. You get the full scope of the character being able to binge watch them when you might forget certain details having to wait for each episode.

I feel the same about Weaver too. As a kid I hated them both but re watching the series as an adult Benton and Weaved are two of my favorites.

@@nictrew The show would've been a lot more boring without characters like Kerry, Benton or Romano. You can't root for characters if you have no one to root against.

Dr.Benton my favorite character That man is one of the best actors around imo. I wish they would do a reunion show

When I first saw Benton, I couldn't stand him. However, this episode and some others really showed how much he cared. He was tough on Carter but he became a good doc because of him. By the time Benton left, I was a true fan. Loved his return near the end.
@drmayeda19304 ай бұрын
The pivot point for me was earlier in the episode when he's bugging Carter to get the keys to Carter's jeep. Benton didn't have a car.
@MrGruffteddybear4 ай бұрын
@@drmayeda1930 I think the pivot point where Benton started to grow on me was when Benton told Carter to come to his families Thanksgiving dinner after he had been discouraging it for the whole episode, after his mom invited him. It grew even more when we got to hear Benton's evaluation of Carter as a student. His intervention when Carter was back on drugs was another great moment for him.

Funny, the ambulance at the end is from one of the EMS providers in LA. You can see the LA County sticker on the window.
@drmayeda19304 жыл бұрын
Depending on level of care that might be a better idea. County ambulances usually have 2 paramedics. If the kid runs into problems they could start treatment right away. Other ambulances might only have emts or lesser training depending on the area and when

It wasn't a crush, it was trust. His parents weren't around so Benton was his everything.
@EAFSQ9 Жыл бұрын
@@Elisheval the way Benton talks to the kid oozes of a calm yet determined and caring feeling that I think assured the kid that he'll be alright. It in a way sounded a little blunt but noting the absence of the kid's parents, it really helped to ground the situation even more but not completely overwhelm him.
@ksagstertohi61562 жыл бұрын
FYI, the kid dies en route to the other Hospital. When Dr. Benton found out, he was so broken-hearted that he asked Carter to massage his Prostate with a gloved finger and some vasaline…as he suspected, this lifted his spirits in almost no time and he climaxed all over Carters nice trousers before scrubbing in for his next case which he nailed). Carter was such a G.
