The Susan Lewis Story - ER

Since my Mark and Susan story turned out to be so popular, I decided to make a short Susan only story. It's quite condensed because I didn't want to make it too long, but Susan is so important to me and her story deserves to be shared.

I never had time to watch this show when it first aired, but now that I'm retired I'm going from the start to the end. I just watched Susan leave in season 3. She is one of my favorites. Glad she comes back in later seasons.

But I don't think that Susan wanted Mark to be her boyfriend. Maybe she after he died she was wondering 'what if she gave them a chance to explore something'.

I think Chuck ended up being a really good husband for her. Of course people are going to say they wanted Mark with her but that's because he was a main character. But I never really saw any spark between them as potential lovers, they had much more of a sibling relationship.

Susan couldn’t be a boss. She was more concerned about keeping her friends. She was already friends with Abby,Carter, Luka and trying to order them around wasn’t her strong suit. Kerry didn’t give a shit about being liked, which is why a lot of times she didn’t have a lot of friends. She was better at being a boss because she even told Luka when he was chief of er not to get sucked into it because you lose focus of what’s really important and that’s your personal life and the people you care about.

4:00 thats exactly how Kerry felt when she had to go up against Mark Susan, Doug, Carter, Luka and many others. Its either hurting or offending someone. Someone needs to be in charge and friendship cannot cloud judgement. Susan learned so much from Kerry and Mark. Susan is such an amazing character. I loved so much her friendship with Mark and later Kerry. Well its true that once someone in charge it is easier to loose friends. Susan had to be more assertive but she couldn't be a boss.

This was amazing... I kind of forgot how Susan was the underachiever. But honestly it doesn't matter that she worked there for 7 years -publish or perish is the academic mantra. Especially in the medical field. Still hit me in the feels though.

Susan was the best character on the series. I thought it was crap when they went with the story of giving her neace back to her Crack addict sister. It certainly resembles how life is these days.

I have always adored Dr. Lewis and wanted to be like her. This video made me realise that I am similar and like her I am suffering because of it :( Educated, professional, kind, helpful, with a heart on my hand, responsible. In return, my superiors get on my head, inundate me with their duties to the point that I work more than ten hours a day. And in the end, no one counts with me and I am never promoted on the pretext that I am not good enough.
