First vid I’ve watched on your channel and it hits close to home. I come from a family of botched relationships where they either ended in divorce or they stuck with each other out of financial or emotional desperation. And I turned out no different, giving my love to women who abused or took advantage of it either emotionally or physically while staunchly trying to prove to myself I wouldn’t be like the men in my family. Turns out I’m trying to not be the abuser, practicing patience and trying to listen, I ended up becoming the victim…life seems to like a twist of irony. It might not be real, but the fantasy of an ex having real feelings for me and giving it a second chance is some much needed dopamine.

It's an ongoing process, I know, and sometimes it can be hard to believe there's anything else out there. But I'm sure you'll find someone to love who will love you back in healthier ways. You will always have to maneuver around your origin story and how it affected the person you are, but it's absolutely possible to find someone who can do that with you. We all have baggage to tote around with us, it's just a matter of finding someone whose baggage compliments our own, so we can both maintain balance without hurting ourselves or each other. It's not easy! But I swear to you on a stack of bibles it's possible. 💖 In the meantime, there's nothing wrong with using fiction for catharsis. It's kind of what humans do! It's necessary maintenance for our brains. So take heart that you're doing okay there.
