I love Frixion pens and this was so interesting. I use them in notebooks and had my note disappear one hot summer. I use them on project plans when meeting with clients so it makes making changes quite easy on the spot. I'll have to get a set of the new gray ones for sure.

thanks for this, I'm surprised I had never heard of these before now... the writing comparison is perfect and I think I want the 0.38 Slim the most! Colors in 0.3 look great too.

An excellent review of thermochromic ink pens. My own observation are : ‘FriXion’ is the brand name from Pilot, Pilot pens write a deeper black than any other brands I’ve tried, a hair drier can quickly erase a full page of notes, watercolour artists can sketch out their pictures with these pens, then add watercolour on top, then a hairdryer makers the ink construction lines disappear. Thank you.

This is so fun to learn. When your notes have disappeared in a hot car (like the example) you can put them in a fridge to make the ink re-appear or is it a one-time-transition? This could be a great part of a murder mystery story 🕵️‍♀️

Love the Frixion line, though I find I have to use a light touch when erasing if I intend to rewrite in the same spot; the "eraser" tends to alter the surface of the paper if used with too much vigor. The Papermate Erasermate was the OG erasable pen, which had a non-absorbing ink that sat on the surface of the paper and could be erased in a manner similar to a pencil. I don't know if they are still available, but they are/were ballpoints with standard (boring) ballpoint colours. The only other alternative was to use a very abrasive "pen eraser" which removed the surface of the paper along with the ink.

My fellow knitters put me onto Frixon! My fiance uses them for Dungeons and Dragons if he needs to change things on his character sheet. I use them for making notes on knitting, crochet, cross stitch patterns, or highlighting a specific section

I wish I could hack some gel refills (like Sarasa or Energel) into a Frixion multi body 🤔 So 1-2 “regular” refills + 1 Frixion refill in a Frixion body. Suggestions? Thanks for another quality Yoseka video 💚

I didn't know that's how they worked! I use them when sewing bc i can use it on fabric and the iron it off. But if the ink is theoretically still there just clear and it might come back if it gets cold enough i might have to rethink how I use them 🤔

I've seen multiple places now where people are saying that if you leave your notes somewhere hot and the ink disappears, you can put it in the freezer, however, wouldn't that bring back the mistakes too?

Very informative review. Thank you! I even have a set of FriXion pencils! Why Pilot made them, I don't know. After all, pencils are by definition erasable - right? I guess Pilot realised that and the pencils were discontinued. So I have a set of curiosities. I am waiting to try out the new duo coloured pens. Should be interesting for my to-do lists. I can rub out and change the colour of "done" items

Some students in Europe are required to use fountain pens and a standard royal blue ink that's marginally "erasable" with an ink eraser. The frixion ink pens are super popular and I imagine have been a real gamechanger.

Hiii, thank you for explaining how it works 😄, i have a question, i red somewhere that if my pen stops working it would be a heat thing (especially that we are in summer ) and that if i do put it in the freezer it would work again! so i just wanted to make sure about this info because i just do not want to ruin the pen cause its not mine ....and thank you in advance ☺

You can recover erased writing by putting it in the freezer. I am not sure what would happen if you put the entire pen in the freezer. Maybe you can try and share?. Just put the refill in the freezer

I love my frixionssss it was the happy middle for me because I loved ink, but hated using wite out But definitely be kind when erasing, especially with thin paper that I think a lot of us tend to use haha The multipens have definitely become a staple for work, since stuff is always changing, but it not the end of the world if the words disappear pft Another version I like for aesthetics is the knock one with constellations?? Those were neat

I really like using the frixion, pens and stamps, they work really well! They pair with mildliners perfectly! One thing I can't stand is that tribal tattoo design on the pen body... 🤮 I really wish they would change. PLEASE PILOT CHANGE IT PLEASE 🙏🏽 I BEG OF YOU PLEASE.

The original clicker was always my favorite for the 0.5 and 0.7 size. I find the point knock's weird metal accents to be a bit out of place and the crazy $4+ price per pen is a little much. The new Synergy Clicker which they recently released in the US has the best design. It has no metal and is cheaper the the point knock and it is slimmer and more professional than the original clicker while not being as thin as the ball slim. Plus it is widely available in 0.5 which is my favorite size.

I live in America and I love these pens,! I love that they’re supposed to be refillable but I can never find refills for them. :( The colored pens never have refills. Does anyone know where I can find refills for some or all the colors of the friXion pens in America or that delivers to America? 🫶🏻✨
