Naw, removing a characters agency is almost always a bad choice. Allowing characters to make choices and decide things for themselves allows you to gain a better understanding of that character and strengthens them. Having Levi bully her into submission is a weak choice that takes away from Historia’s character and her development.

It's interesting where anime draw the line in the depiction of violence in AoT. In the manga: Levi orders Historia to become the Queen. Shocked by the news, Historia keeps repeating that she is "unfit to rule." Levi doesn't take "no" for an answer. Grabs her by the collar, lifts her off the ground, demands either to "run, accept it or fight him back." She is physically unable to do any of that at the moment, due to being choked by her own collar. So he drops her on the floor. While Historia coughs and tries to regain her breath, the main cast just stands there, shocked and horrified. Jean is the only one who tells Levi that he "went too far." Levi ignores him and gives a speech that summarizes the whole moral dilemma of the Uprising arc. He is willing to kill anyone who stays in the way of ending titans' nightmare. But if she agrees, fewer people would stand in his way. The choice is hers. And so, Levi immediately grabs Historia's head and screams at her to "hurry up and choose already!" Historia, overwhelmed and in tears, screams back that "she will do it! She will play another role." Finally, Levi offers her a hand and helps her to stand up. Levi throws a glance at everyone's reaction. Some glare at him, some are wary of him. Hange's squad looks like they understand why he did it, or they simply used to his ways. No one says anything to his face. Later, Dimo Reeves (merchant) tells Historia that "her boss is a scary man... but he's not a bad guy." And when she becomes Queen, she should punch him and say to him: "I dare you to hit me back!" Historia doesn't look convinced. Eren finds the idea funny, encourages her to do it, and wonders how would Levi react to it. Btw, all of it takes place before kidnapping, coup and Kenny. I'll never understand why anime version of Levi deserved that and why would Mikasa, out of all the people, suggest it?!

@@daceshiet oh, yeah manga never passed on opportunity to question our heroes actions and their violence. My problem is that it isn't even portrait bad in anime. Like Levi just passes Erwin's order onto Historia and that's it. Not even pressuring her verbally and yet they still left in punch scene for no goddamn reason. Either leave alone this important moment for Historia and Levi characterisation or drop aftermath. At least choose Jean, Connie or Sasha on that role. They were clearly not on board with the order... If you read past kidnapping you would see the scene where they discuss Levi's behavior and his order to kill people. Mikasa basically said "oh, I agree Levi is messed up guy, but we don't have other options and so I'm prepared to kill humans as he ordered". Such difference in characterisation for no reason.

In the manga, Historia actually didn’t agree to become queen as easily as she did here. Levi literally grabbed her and picked her up by the collar to get her to say yes and I’m not really a fan of how they changed it in the anime.

For Historia to reject the queen offer in manga might be understandable as she would have to give up her own freedom that Ymir has inspired her to pursue. However after witnessing how the Reiss family neglect their duty to protect humanity while possessing the founding titan power and enjoy the royal family privilege, as a last known living descendant of Reiss family, Historia did learn that she is burdened with the responsibility as a much mature person now and choose to act as a responsible person

Isayama says “To tell the truth, when I first read the script I asked them to direct it in a different direction.But there were people who wanted to show visually how “ you can’t achieve something without throwing something away” and how “by paying a price, they were saved.” This can be found in an interview with The Booklet that came with the 8th volume. Not only are you rude, but you’re wrong. So respectfully, shut up.

Very true. Although, about the issue they're making that comment on, I think it's perfectly fine since it's something that already happened and that they can't actually change any of it, so choosing to believe it was the best possible outcome so you can face the present and future with all your might, and not get depressed about it, it's a perfectly fine coping mechanism. That said, it is not a good way to think about the future. Since, as you very well pointed out, it's easy to fall into making yourself believe you "have no other choice" thus anything horrible that you do or happens isn't your fault, it's others' fault for making you "have no other choice". That kind of mindset and others, like "the lesser evil" or "for the greater good", have always being troublesome ones throughout history. In short, you're right but context matters. Something can be really dangerous in certain situations or pretty harmless in others.

And also, in season 1 (correct me if I’m wrong), the districts around the wall were created so titans would go there instead of the walls. It would be much more easier to kill them off because all of them would be gathered to only one place rather than scattered around the wall.

When I watched Semblance of Sanity's reaction to this they had called it the "Turkey Titan" one of them had read the Manga and apparently there was a panel where it was at an angle where you couldn't see the head and it looked kinda like a turkey lol

Mikasa's comment to Historia might not make too much sense in the context of the anime since a lot of events were skimmed over or outright skipped in favor of faster pacing. But in the manga, Reeves boss survives a little longer, and Eren and Historia aren't initially kidnapped until a decent way through the arc. But after finding out Historia is the true heir, she's hesitant about being forced into another role. And Levi lifts her up by the collar and chokes her, telling her they don't have time to think and to fight back if she doesn't like it. Then Reeves boss basically tells Historia to hit Levi for what he did later. On a side note, Mikasa and Historia have a really underrated friendship

It's spinal fluid from a holder of an Armored Titan. Long as it's stored the fluid seems to last indefinitely so it's probably from before they locked themselves away on Paradis. It's basically just the thing they do with Zeke's spinal fluid.

@@georgecooper9630 That's the problem, because this intel is provided by Zeke and Yelena which origin from Ksaver who never have both non-royal blood founding titan shifter and royal blood non titan shifter to do the experiment. So whether this intel is reliable or not is actually questionable. However Eren did manage to activate the founding titan ability to access to founding titan memories and control mindless titan when he first highfive Dina titan and when Rod and Historia touch him, so does is it really required both condition of royal bloodline + mindless/shifter titan to be fulfill to allow Eren activate founding titan power seem suspicious. I question if this is one of Zeke purposeful intention to make sure Paradis do not discard Zeke from his plan since Paradis still have another royal bloodline choice, Historia.

It took me a couple dozen times to catch on, but yeah apparently the reason historia saved eren was because of ymir plus eren thinking he shouldn't have happened, just like how historia felt like she shouldn't have happened and just live her life pleasing others. At one point in time she even wanted to off herself in season 2. It was during that episode saving Daz from the mountain blizzard
