eren was right. he's talking about how mikasa's considered one of the strongest soldier in history and she just wanted to use it to protect him. she also tried to disobey her senior. ian literally said "i'm not asking for your opinion". later on mikasa realize it in her own monologue. that she acted for her own sake over her comrades and humanity. same as how mikasa tried to always warn him from being reckless. she's one of the ppl who can tame him. not with that scene where he got eaten. but most of the scenes. that's why i think that's also one of the reason why they're an ideal couple.

Maybe have you ever think he don't want or like her to always treat him like a baby or a kid who's not independent on his own. Bc for him the way she always treat him make him think he's weak and that's hurt his pride. Especially she always do this infront of everyone. He become insecure and not confident in himself bc of her bc he was always been told that Mikasa always has to save him or fight in his place. He even told her many time to stop treating him like such and that's she's not his mom nor he's not her little brother. If Mikasa didn't have that obsession of always fighting for him or treat like he's always need protection Eren would not be that tough with her but will interact with her like he did with Armin and the others. I mean when Eren finally pass his test abt the ODM gear he was looking at Mikasa while saying in his mind that he don't need her to protect him now but ofc she end up saying the opposite. Come to think of it she didn't even make a proper convo with him like others but always told him to behave, ask him if he's hurt even tho sometimes he's not, always overreacting abt little things abt Eren. I mean girl you have been living with him and close to him since you're a kid it ain't that hard to be open and talk abt something else or abt the future with him. There's a reason why Eren finally ask her why she care abt him so much if is it bc he save her from her kidnappers or a family where he took her in in his house and then following up with the question what he is to her.
