just returned from a great sightseeing trip in Stralsund and Wismar. If you have not seen these old harbour cities from the medieval "Hansa" period, I would highly recommend them to you. In both cities the hotels from Radisson Blu and Radisson Park Inn are a great choice...very lovely and not too expensive.

You did a good video on Erfurt, but ofcourse you did not see everything, or at least you did not film it. The Synagoge is the oldest north of the Alps and was "hidden" in the buildings around it after the jewish citizens of Erfurt were either killed or forced to leave the City in 1347. After the wall fell in Berlin in 1989 the Synagoge was discovered in parts of other buildings, being used as a storehouse. There was also a hidden treasure buried near the Synagoge in 1347 by rich jewish people, in the hope of returning to Erfurt. This treasure was discovered while building an underground garage in the 1990s. Next time you must visit the synagoge. Also interesting is the cloister, where Martin Luther lived as a young theology professor, developing his thouhgts about reforming the catholic church. Interesting too is the reason why Erfurt was so rich in the medieval times...they processed "Waid", a plant, which was used to dye fabric blue. Did you notice the round holes next to the entrance of the old homes? When beer was being brewed in the house, the owner put straw in the hole and set it on fire, so that the neighbours knew not to empty the toiletts into the river.

@@arnodobler1096 We 100% agree. The elections were incredibly disappointing and scary. We visited this summer before the elections and mostly went since it’s where my family was originally from.

Verstehe zwar die Wähler da auch nicht, aber es sind ja nicht alle braun angehaucht...Wenn es an Bildung fehlt, wird eben rechts gewählt. Aber alle Bürger aus Thüringen und Sachsen "über einen Kamm zu scheren", finde ich doch etwas kurz gedacht. Und nein, ich bin kein Bürger den "neuen Bundesländern", sondern ein weltoffener, wenn auch manchmal ein sturer Westfale!😉
