What a great video! You seem like such a nice and very intelligent gentleman. Your insights and 'wish list' items are spot on. I too, did not know there is not an app for smartphones, so thanks for bringing that up. I was considering buying the Ergatta upgrade kit for my existing WaterRower (I have SmartRow installed now). Your video was very informative. Thank you for making it.

Excellent work here. Still trying to decide between the hydrow and this, but greatly appreciate this review.

How often does the water need to be changed to prevent mildew/bacteria build up? Is it difficult to change out the water? Great video - thank you
@contemplatethejourney3 жыл бұрын
They send tablets for water treatment to ensure no mildew buildup. It’s been a few months now for me and I do not see any issues - but will likely treat the water again soon by throwing in another tablet. Water isn’t bad to replace. Use the pump and remove them add new - just don’t forget to treat again. Thanks for watching and good luck!

Fantastic review, subbed, and I think you have helped me choose the Ergatta over the Peloton bike for my X-Mas gift. Will set up a 90 day, live stream, to track my progress on it. I typically row 4x a week on my gym's Concept 2, and track on Strava. But I see the benefit in having my own rower, and system.

Great video! Thinking about this or the nordictrak rower as it’s cheaper and I don’t really care about appearance of the machines.

I just got mine this week and love it, even though I’m bummed about needing a new water tank assembly (sensor cable port is loose) and a new monitor (new monitors have firmware issues preventing the heart rate monitors from pairing). Curious as to why my rower is on an automatic recalibration path of 30 workouts and not the 10 everyone mentions?

Great review! I just had a few questions on based on your experience. The monitor looks very glossy/reflective. Will I have issues with sun glare? Also, I've never used a rower before, should I wear my back brace or will it make it too awkward? Most exercises and equipment I have enough lower back strength now that I don't need to worry, but I'd prefer not to re-injure my back.
@contemplatethejourney3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Glare will depend on how much direct light you have. Mine sits close to a large window in a well lit room and for normal rowing - no issues with glare. You will see some glare if you do a selfie, as with all monitors. I am hesitant to provide any real guidance on your back brace question other than take it slow and listen to your body. Maybe contact your physician as well to get their input. Happy rowing and take care!

Good review for what you covered. But I would have really like to hear the rower while you're rowing. Also, can this be stored upright?

It can be stored upright. At 103 pounds with water in the tank other reviews state it's much easier to move/stand up than hydrow and others

Hi Trish. I am still on the fence about adding a mat… simply for the additional balance it will provide.

@@trishgrogis5696 I got a water rower and I used an old yoga mat I had laying around. I put it under my seat area so my sweat would be caught. I like it because I can then just take it to the tub and give it a rise every now and then (I do wipe up my sweat after every use.).

Great review! Have you had any issues with tightness/compression/discomfort in the "pants area" during rows, due to the closeness of the feet placement? I've seen it mentioned in a couple reviews and is one of my main points of hesitancy.
@contemplatethejourney3 жыл бұрын
Hey CJ. I wear very loose shorts and sit forward with the shorts pulled forward as well. No issues seen. I have read where some folks installed their seat in backwards and caused some discomfort. May be related to that. Thanks for the comment and be well.

They need a mobile app, but just as importantly they need Strava integration. I hate the lack of online tracking of workouts and calorie burn, it seems a huge miss in 2022. But yet another app for tracking would be just as bad an idea, that’s why everyone else allows you to sync to one of the main aggregation exercise trackers, like Strava or Garmin
@contemplatethejourney3 жыл бұрын
They are about to release an Android app and are working on the iOS version to be released later this year. Also, it currently does integrate with Strava, though a bit limited. Thanks for watching and take care.

How hard can you go with this? Yeah the LCD screen looks wobbly. I'm concerned it might just fall.
@contemplatethejourney3 жыл бұрын
I have a pad I am going to put under it as I have heard this solves the wobbly issue. I go as hard as I can and the wobble is not noticeable from the rowing street.

I've heard some concerns about the narrow distance for the feet and how it could be an issue for larger users. Have you noticed any issues with it from a height perspective? I'm 5'10" and currently about 245 (hoping to change that with the rower), but was concerned about it feeling too constrained.

I’ve heard that too from folks who just got their rower, but they seem to adapt quickly. No issues for me and I fall around 5’9
