I think one of the funniest moments of Ataman was in the Euroleague final when ref reminded him that he has one more timeout and Ataman responded as “yeah yeah I’ll take it next year”. Indeed he was again in the final next year 😂

Honestly I watched every single game of Panathinaikos last year as Galatasaray fan just because of you. I was so happy when we managed to win Euroleague title. Every weekend , i still watch the final game and the press conference where sloukas kissed you from your head again and again. I feel like we won the title together. I have a feeling that we won’t be back to back champion this year because of Turkish players who don’t have team chemistry

Ataman did not go into details but how he ended up at his first headcoaching job at Telekom, when he 30 years old, is really interesting, and foretelling. He first went to Ulker and asked for the HC job. They said "who are you??" and hired someone experienced. Then Ataman beat them in the semis to reach the finals for the first time in Telekom history.
