Lol I don't understand the "coke" thing. Born and raised SC and no one I've ever met calls a soda "coke" unless it is actually a coke lol. I mean, the only thing I could think of is also calling Pepsi a Coke, but ...🤷🏼‍♀️🤣 Loved this 🤣❤️

Born and raised in southern Louisiana here - I can attest that this is definitely a thing from where I come from!! When ordering a coke in a restaurant, it's not uncommon to be asked what type of coke you want... God Bless the sweet south - while our states might be a little different from one to the other - I love the fact that our fundamentals are one and of the same. ❤

Born and raised in southern Louisiana here - I can attest to the "coke" fact. When ordering a coke in a restaurant, it's not uncommon to be asked what type of coke you want... That being said I just have to say God Bless the sweet south... While our states in the south might be a little different from one to the other - I love the fact that we have the same sacred fundamentals that are one and of the same. ❤

Barbecue, according to research done by The Smithsonian, began during the Colonial Era in Virginia. Interestingly enough, the vinegar-based sauce served with barbeque made in Virginia leaves the dish commonly called 'North Carolina style barbeque.' Im not sure the Carolinas even existed during the Colonial Era (1600's) but if they did, they were probably referred to as Virginia, ijs. England 'discovered' Virginia in 1607.

The province of Carolina was definitely around it took up almost the entire south, most of georgia and I think Alabama was Carolina. The only other southern place was florida owned by the spanish. Carolina was also the wealthiest colony for the colonial period and leading into the civil war both Carolinas were the wealthiest states.

North Carolina was an original colony! It is also the undisputed King Of All Barbecue. If you haven't had North Carolina barbecue (and slaw...and Brunswick Stew) you have no idea what it is supposed to taste like. The Smithsonian is run by stupid Yankees.
