I remember seeing this live. DX was at a loading dock in the back of Nitro with a rolling door. Kevin Nash later stated he was on the other side of that door, but that a frumpy security guy was under orders from "someone in WCW management" to not open the door under any circumstances. Not saying it was Bischoff, but it could've been any one of Turner's executives who was floating around WCW at that time. Bischoff sounds very sure and credible telling these stories. Except when you look closer and realise he's talking absolute bollocks. Titan were in the process of suing Turner for copyright infringement over Scott Hall and Kevin Nash's presentation when they first jumped back to WCW. Here you have WCW implying that a WWF character - Mr McMahon - was going to be on one of their shows when they knew he wasn't? The only thing showing up was the legal consequences.

The guys before Bischoff made a lot of horrible decisions like letting Undertaker go or trying to turn Flair into a gladiator and letting him leave to WWF with their belt. Bischoff made WCW profitable and Nitro and having it be live was all Bischoff’s ideas. The problem was the people above Bischoff started to get involved, making him tone down the content and forcing him to continue the nWo which is what was making them a lot of money. He wanted to start winding it down after the Hogan-Sting match but his bosses said no and that is what lead to him being fired. @GrymmSoulАй бұрын
You can't have that both ways. "DX was early so he couldn't be in the ring...but also the show had already started at 8, hurrhurr derrrrp!" .... So, in other words, Bischoff totally could've been in the ring, DX didn't show up early, and there are two entire seasons of the year when there's still daylight at 8 pm...and the DX invasion angle happened during the first of the two, LOL! Did you want to hilariously contradict yourself a few more times in a public platform? That you "still find his story wrong," says infinitely more about you, than it does about Bischoff's factual anecdote....which is self-deprecating...and would not have gained, nor accomplished, anything for Bischoff or (retroactively) WCW if it had been a lie (and those details can't possibly be confused, so it's not like Bischoff is wildly misremembering how it all happened. Not to mention that RAW and Nitro were both filmed live by the time the DX invasion angle happened....that everyone involved has stated that DX showed up while WCW was filming...that WCW fans at Nitro came pouring out of The Scope to see DX...and the fact that, you know, IT"S ALL BEEN RECORDED AND SHOWN IN MULTIPLE WWE DOCUMENTARIES AND CLIPPED ALL OVER KZbin. Austin was a midcarder when Bischoff took over WCW as was Foley, Triple H, Nash, Hall and Taker left under the previous management. Eric was going to keep Austin but Ric Flair talked him into firing him. Eric Bischoff worked under Vern Gagne prior to joining WCW, so unlike the guy before him Jim Herd, had experience in the business and understood, Jim Herd had worked for Dominos prior to WCW. Jim Herd wanted to turn Flair into a gladiator and let him leave to WWF with their belt. WCW didn’t start making money until Eric Bischoff took over. Eric is responsible for a lot of the changes in the business like guaranteed contracts, live weekly shows. Technically he is responsible for Steve Austin’s push in WWF. He signed Hall and Nash, then the Curtain Call happened and Triple H got punished, he was suppose to win the 96 King of the Ring not Austin. So had he not signed Hall and Nash, the Curtain Call wouldn’t have happened and Austin would have remained in the midcard.
