They have a "down to Earth" look I think. I still go yo see Eric whenever he's in the area.

The second version of the animals are the best! Great covers of to love somebody and ring of fire. The live version of roadrunner is amazing!

Eric Burdon & The Animals could squeeze all the pathos out of a blues song that was there.

You should check out Hugh Laurie (he played Dr. House on the TV show House) do Saint James Infirmary. So very good!

Eric Burden and the Animals were the bad boys of rock out of the British invasion of the mid-1960s.

Please, please, do this same song by Louis Armstrong … if you do, you will understand my insistence. Meantime, keep up your jolly reactions. Best wishes from my little countryside in France.

Follow this one up with Son House singing "Death Letter". White Stripes do a credible cover of it too.

My theory is that in the original order of stanzas, he first goes down to St James infirmary, THEN goes to the bar, only to discover that Joe (and presumably others) had also had 'relations' with here. The rest is all about how the narrator wants to die

So happy to hear this. Burdon at his best. Now you need to find, on the album Love is, the song ''As the years go passing by''. A long blues that will blow your mind from late 60s.

@@michaelasay8587 It wasn't a hit. Does it have to be to be a great song. It came out competing with the likes of Sgt.Pepper, Beggar's Banquet. Many great songs on the album. River deep, mountain high by Burdon. Great. To love somebody. Ring of fire.
