For 71 I think he looks fantastic! I have followed Eric since the beginning. There is no better guitar player/entertainer in my mind. I loved him from the start and I love him now. I find it remarkable that at 71 with his health problems that he can play at all anymore. AND... I don't give a shit what pants he chose to wear!!

peripheral neuropathies are very painful. Loose fitting clothes are often prescribed. I am an MD and specialized in pain medicine and pain management and I have had peripheral neuropathy. Gerry, some of these people need to get a life or at least an education Thanks for your post. Claymor (above) needs a claymore.

I have had diabetes for over 40 years have been insulin dependent for the last 18. I suffer a great deal with peripheral neuropathy in my legs, feet, arms and hands. It is a very painful condition. I have tingling numbness in the affected areas to the point of it being painful all the time. It has greatly affected the feeling and fine motor movements in my hands. I can understand all too well why Mr. Clapton would be having trouble playing like he used to. It most likely hurts him to play and I am pretty sure he can't feel where his fingers are on the strings like he needs to. Bless him, he is doing the best he can. The music is in his soul. It's a part of him. Enjoy him for as long as you can!!

EC always makes an effort, almost unintentionally or intentionally, to present in a sartorially elegant way, to match his finer choices in life. I believe he wore the pants for reasons known to a few. Notwithstanding, nothing detracts from his excellent playing. He does not wear track pants just to get some sympathy, attention or adulation. Keeping a date with his audience speaks of his professionalism and devotion to his craft.

i followed E.C.all lifetime, growin up with that music.... i play myself bass Guitar and sometimes guitar too... but all of them fellows, who play the blues well, as E.C. and Chris Rea at the end plays, are Giants among dwars / midgets in Music... i was glad to follow their career since beginning , even i am only 56 now, but most of the time listened most of first releases and best of all, saw them on stage their youth... awesome wouldn´t descripe that emotion and excitement i felt, watching and listening them. @ RisenPhoenix i deeply agree with your comment !
