It is totally awesome, however- Life has become very difficult for musicians. The only income is in touring. It's free but comes at a cost nonetheless (!) So although I love how easy and free it is also. Something must be done for them with this new technology. (I've spent a small fortune too! Recordings and live) It's such a blessing. 🕉

I had seen clips of this concert but seeing Night 1 in its entirity just reinforces what an effort putting this concert was true homeage to the value of friendship of at least fifty years of both good & bad times and they all came to remember Jeff in a way only people who love & care about can do. Thank you for putting this together for us to watch for free It is another part of Mr claptons legacy, as well as all the artists who performed. They all came together in spite of their distances & busy lives. And as well age that is the hardest part - saying goodbye I didnt knowbJeff personally but as listener, i was very aware of his talent, distinctive & raw, he never lost his edge For Jeff it was always & only about the music Play on Jeff.. Heavens class of 2023 simply needed a guitar player! They surely got one of the best There will be a void where you once stood. To Mr. Clapton i thank him for always pushing forward & standing up for his late friend. Getting everyone together - setting up the playlist im sure was no easy task. Yet he did it wifh the style, grace and determination he is known for. No one does it better And at the end when the stage went dark & all of the artist turned their backs to watch the video of Moon River, as an audience member, i shed a tear. Yes folks we are living in one of Music's greatest Renaisence We are seeing the best. At the very end when Eric said he wished Jeff was here I say he was there as his music will live within each of you forever. I think Jeff was there looking down on all of his friends with that wicked smile on his face. He will always live inside each of his friends. Isnt it comfortin to know that no one takes the memories & no one takes the music Both will live on in each of us. Thank you again everyone who gave of their time to honor Jeff & support his famillies charitys. As i said before...play on Jeff. 💔

There were already so many star guests for this anthology concert, there could have been Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart but also Peter Frampton, Johnny Winters and Otis Rush... ( I digress, some have unfortunately already joined the Paradise of Extraordinary Artists) So many legendary musicians who brought joy to our younger years and who helped revive the legend of JEFF BECK. Oh my God I just stumbled on this and I'm both heartbroken and joyous at the same time. Eric Clapton's opening solo is maybe the most beautiful guitar solo I've ever heard Eric play. Purely from the heart referencing some of Jeff Beck's techniques and melodic style. But all doing it as pure Eric Clapton! For any of the doubters out there, Eric still has it in spades! Well done and this is one I'm going to watch over and over again! Rest in peace Sir Jeff!🎸🎶💯🌈😔💖

Don’t forget the other guitar greats. Gary Clark Jr. blew me away with Derek Trucks, John McLaughlin and everyone on stage. It was a guitar lovers paradise! Three greats on stage that did great to recreate the tone of Jeff Beck. Jimmy Page wrote “Beck’s Bolero” and they were best mates. Jimmy must have had issues to keep him away from this tribute. Increíble maestros!

I am old enough and blessed enough to have seen Cream on their Wheels of Fire tour. They followed Spirit and Eric and Randy sat on the edge of the stage and jammed as everyone left the Anaheim Convention Center. I stayed in my seat and enjoyed what two great guitarists had to offer. Increíble! It was only $3.50 admission back then. I saw and heard so many greats in the 1960s and 70s. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my first concert was Jimi , Eric Burdon and Soft Machine. I was so happy!

I know exactly what you mean - but I think in terms of technique both Bonamassa, Gales and Mayer could do a pretty respectable job - and in terms of tone, feeling and soul Slash, Trucks, and Tim Pierce can all add something special into the early mix as well. Now Mark Knopfler’s night, when it comes around, might be a little more tricky. …….. But this is kind of morbid thinking. Que sera, sera.

My younger brother and I met Jeff backstage at one of his concerts back in72, had the oppurtunity to party with the man a short bit and got to know and really see what a kind, humble soul he really was. On a couple of occasions he sent us back stage passes to his concerts here cause we hit it off and all enjoyed partying together. I have been a huge fan since his days with the yardbirds and all his following albums, he truely was a master of the guitar on a par of Hendrix but he innovated it to new heights and technicalities. He actually had a good voice but didn't sing all that much choosing more to use his guitar to do the singing. I surely miss him hope I see him in the next place, don't be late!

Jeff Beck just seems to be somebody to name drop to get some instant credibility with your peers. I mean what's he actually done? He was only a minor innovator and didn't master any genre. He paved the way somewhat for guitar experimentation in the Yardbirds, but Hendrix soon blew him away. Then he fumbled a bit with some proto hard rock, and then Zeppelin soon blew him away. In the 70s he was doing weird prog jazz funky fusion stuff , but who actually listens to that kind of stuff? It sounds very dated, like background music to a Starksy & Hutch episode. I've never met anyone in real life who liked Jeff Beck. I bough Truth and thought it was okay but not outstanding. I bought Blow by Bow and thought it was horrible. I've lent out a few Jeff Beck albums to my friends and nobody's liked them much, at most they said they were okay. I've listened online to most of his stuff, desperately trying to "get it" but I never do. Most people who praise him are just parroting a popular sentiment, because few people are brave enough to admit that he's hugely overrated.

Thank you Eric Clapton for this and also other concerts like George Harrison and JJ Cale s memorial. And by the way, the two women playing bass and drums from the Jeff Beck band, are good. But where was Tal Wikenfeld ? Gary Clark was fantastic.

I have immense respect for Gary Clark Jr and Doyle Bramhall 2, been listening to them for years and love their music. But if you go back and watch Jeff Beck perform Cause We've Ended as Lovers from Live at Ronnie Scotts and then watch the version included in this video, you'll understand what separated Jeff Beck from his contemporaries. Jeff's version is so clean compared to the muddled mess you see here.

mebbe so but I am hoping that Eric Clapton's MUSIC will live on through those guitarists who have played with him or play similarly. I hope and pray that Eric Clapton's classic rock music will live on through guitar heroes yet to be born.🎸. I cannot imagine a world without awesome rock music 💔. It would be like a world without love.

Possibly underrated by blues and rock people who don’t know much about jazz, but ask any jazz player or listener and they’ll tell you John is every bit as important as Jimi was, and far more proficient.

Embro336 I was very disappointed in the reproduction quality of the show. After watching and listening to the Tribute to George Harrison many, many times, I was appalled at the sound reproduction of the Tribute to Jeff Beck, another idol I have revered for OhI so many years!! It seemed to me that the sound was picked up from another set of mikes (with all the accompanying reverberation) . When anybody spoke or sang into a mike. you didn't hear their voice, it came bouncing back from the surrounding walls.....very, very, Disappointing!!! The content of the Tribute was marvellous, but the reproduction left one hell of a lot to be desired!
