Hey guys. This is a song that was voted for by Patrons on my Patreon page and I want to thank you guys for your support. I think this was an excellent choice and I had loads of fun getting this one down note for note. Just one particular note I’d like to make about the song. During the verses, I heard Clapton palm muting at different times and also switching up between using pull offs/hammer ons and picking every note. I think the goal here is to get a general idea of what he’s doing and feel it out for yourself. As opposed to memorizing exactly every spot that he’s doing this. If you miss a palm mute or hammer on here or there, no big deal. Get the riff down and have fun with it! I really feel that this is a great tune for any aspiring blues player. What are some other essential blues tunes you’d like to see on the page?

The funny thing is he himself thinks it’s crap. I believe he made a mistake with the timing somewhere in the middle of the 2nd solo but it just so happens to sound incredible. A glorious mistake if you will!

as I recall Clapton was treated like a guitar god when the first 'supergroup' Cream formed in 1966 ... until Jimi Hendrix first played onstage in London on 1 Oct 1966 and Eric was backstage trying to light a cigarette with trembling hands ... "I'm dead" ...

This is the first time Ive seen Crossroads played. Ive heard it many many times, but the experience of seeing how Clapton likely played it that night at the (Filmore West?). Nice of you to tab it out, but doubt I'll live long enough to learn it, play it, then play it up to speed. Awesome. And thanks. You ever play the 1970 Derek and the Dominoes slow version?
