67 here. Whoya ! Witnessed CREAM on their Goodbye Tour at the then "Fabolous Forum" in Los Angeles. 1st concert AT $6.50. Followed this man from the Bluesbreakers on but no matter who he has played with you always....know its him. Articulate, clean, fast, gracious on stage and soooo soulful. Thank you indeed Eric Clapton ! We on the senior tour were so lucky to actually see live, EC and the other amazing axmen mentioned below in our life time. Gonna be a good while before such collective musicianship comes this way again. What a ride !!!
@nelsonanthoine6293Ай бұрын
Cream live at the LA Forum is a classic recording, maybe their last show (or one up in San Francisco after that). The Ginger Baker drum solo at that concert, in "Toad", is unsurpassed in rock, with amazing polyrhythms, creativity and drive. I luckily saw EC twice, in '74 in SF, and about '85 in Sacramento with Ry Cooder opening (they didn't play together, unfortunately). Derek and the Dominoes with Duane Allman may be his best album.

This is probably one of THE BEST examples you will ever find to illustrate the importance and the affect of playing the pocket. Right after a few bars, you can see the keyboard player is bopping, Willie is bopping and then the song just explodes. Steve Jordan's performance on this song, in my opinion, puts this live version on my MUST HAVE and MUST HEAR Steve Jordan list.

Steve Jordan: Using the simplest of sets, no fancy effects, minimum micing, doesn't even look like they have in-ear monitors,,,nevertheless he's spot on throughout the entire 8 1/2 minute groove! @Rick Bray VERY TRUE ! I wish I could be brief but..its not easy. But growin up in the 50's was not all about what kids needed.. Being a teen in the 60's meant go out and start saving for your dreams.. But we did find Cream, '67 Doors, Stones, Beatles, Neal Young.. and 50 more greats that were exploding with great sounds and lyrics. Which ALL did take us with THEM and we are generally tougher and more greatful than kids that were coddled. Of course Eric was mostly spoiled and overall as lucky his grandparents kept him close and much- loved AND even got a guitar!!/s. and Art School!! Blue collars did not often get STUFF..but we found a similar friend and we . Getting by with a little help from our friend..and Cream did flaming great blues all their own..a and sooh original. I sure wish he would tour inside the USA..he lives NY AND CALI.. BICOASTAL IS just unfair. Since he lives in Cali. And toured Europe twice in lat 6 years..and many London gigs under the radar. I wish I could at least get their impeccable SOUNDBOARDS. The profits could SAAVE THE WORLD!! OR THE Planet. OR STOP THE CRUCIFICATION OF PEOPLE DYING OR LIVING IN THE WORST OF PAIN. THE FEDS Have NO proof of our sickest overdosing or misusing or sharing what keeps them alive. Feds just now to pharmas who bribe with gifts and vacations worth a chalet ..also given for bribes. As the sick suffer and hi-dose fentanyl From China..is being blamed on pharmaceuticals..which have fractional and ultra perfect dosage which is not made to party. it saves suicides..or..it used to. Eric may be unaware but he is someone who now lives with very tough pain. He gets the best pain help. others are now cut off and aggressively prescribed products that do not help the higher pain levels that do ruin lives. It never creates addictive behavior for those in worst paIn.. because pain patients now and a let a appreciated the reasonable relief and prescribed dose is the only way it works for decades + allows a livable life. I know too much about the deadliest pain that often comes from a long life of hard work or basic sports and even fitness. Or- deformities. And botched surgeries with no re-do. +too many Illnesses or conditions with no cure and all who can not even stand, sit up, eat nd drink..without softening their pain. End of "Why we can't let Feds go on taking bribes and blaming our sickest who can't protest, can't re vel..Can't organize and work to organize some of the 40 million being treated worse than pets and even suicides. yes its as dirty fact. and of course the news anchors don't. share the Feds betrayal of our sickest. or they, too get big money to turn away from betrayals of our vets and our sickest.

The thing I admire the most about Clapton besides his great guitar work is how he's so focused all the time.

A perfect demonstration of why this man is the most tasteful recorded guitarist who ever lived. Still funky, bluesy and rocky - and loving him more than ever now, at time of listening, in 2019.

Eric Clapton is one guitar player I could never get tired of listen to, I could listen to the same song few times and still hear something different, I could never get a computer good enough for storing all the generations of blues music to blues/rock etc. I have watched all the Eric Clapton crossroads guitar festival concerts KZbin. Wish I was there in person to hear the great music. Never hear music like this in Australia. America is so fortunate to have a great music culture and history they have. Wish I was there, KZbin is as close as I can get, God bless America for great blues artists throughout many generations

You do realise that Eric Clapton is English?

Some of the greatest blues performers are British. One of them didn't even play a guitar. That would be the incomparable Joe Cocker. American blues artists worshipped his voice and soul.

Top of their game , Clapton is a legend , his entire band are amazingly talented people , Paul Carrack etc Doyle Bramhall II solo at the end is also top notch , reminiscent of Claptons original 70s live solos plus a lot more. One of the best live songs ever done.💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

I love a crisp snare drum, and the drummer knows how to keep those skins loud and right on beat, that initial beet with the scratching wah wah make the whole song. This is really a rockin' song I had totally forgotten but it's a different faster version than the one on DEREK and the DOMINOES. LOVE IT. . CLAPTON absolutely shines when he's playing with old friends, he's got a smile from ear to ear. It's nice to see him rockin' here rather than slower blues, although he's an amazing blues player and that's his first love. This is a great song. God Bless, Eric. Hope you're around to keep playing such great music for a good long time. He never gets much credit for his singing, but he's got a great voice in addition to rockin' guitar work.

Eric Clapton has lived the life of 2 or 3 people & has come thru it with great classic & that amazing talent. Rivaled by none. I enjoy listening to him since I first heard him in '69 to this day!
