It's insane how how this sounds so good with just one guitarist. Eric is a powerhouse. Terrific singer and needless to say, he's a champion guitar player.

Only Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix could evoke such feelings on the guitar. They are the champions of the three-piece band.

I remember watching this live and thinking how great Eric sounded. Like better than he has in years and then rewatching this, the trio and Steve Jordan definitely are the key here. EC is the king of power trios and works/sounds best in this setting. Just a Strat and a badass rhythm section is all he really needs. I get the want for a big band but come on this is where he shines.

I really like Eric playing this tune, sounds great as a trio. Eric has really decided to let his guitar get down and dirty when necessary. He should tour the entire Layla album, that would be pretty neat. He can bring Derek Trucks for Duane, get Bobby back, maybe Jim will be out on parole soon. You just never know. Maybe Phil Collins (haha, that was a joke)...anyway, Eric if you're reading this, think about it.

@@terrybono5995 I've heard it. I prefer Jordan's tight groove with attacking accents to Gordon's more dynamic approach. Jordan's drumming highlight the bass, which is played amazingly by Willie here. And I'm very aware of Radle&Gordon rhythm section being one of the best in rock. I just prefer Jordan&Weeks in this particular song.
