@cooltooth112 Terry is another one of those unsung Guitar heroes who never got the credit he deserved. Like Derringer with Johnny Winter George complimented Clapton quite nicely and for a few years actually pushed the Music to higher levels.

@cooltooth112 ..George Terry died a couple years ago. Also, Clapton was brilliant when he played at the Band's Last Waltz, and when I saw him at RAF Blackbush, U.K. in 1978 with Bob Dylan and a bunch of other folks.

What is on the Last Waltz is actually an edited version. The full solo Clapton plays was edited at an awkward point right before Robbie's. There's a boot out there with the full version. Robbie does sound excellent on that though, but the transition to his solo is an edit.

I have a recording of this show but not with Key To The Highway. I love it. Thanks for posting. There is also a great version of Blues Power from this show.

Great song. Great band. Great audience. EC is sublime, as usual. Who's playing that harp?

@cooltooth112 You are absolutely right. I was getting my George's mixed up. George McCorkle was an original guitarist with the legendary Marshall Tucker Band who were very popular at the same era. I saw MTB and EC live during the '70's and in my defense, George Terry and George McCorkle look pretty similar. Check out these links. So sorry about the mixup!!

Are you a relative to Mrs Brenda Hawkins, the grandmother of Josh Brough, from The Republic of Eire? Had a nice conversation with her and her grandson, whom I regard to be a real genius. Best regards from Vienna, Austria, Michael

Is that Eric Clapton at 2:50? Or who's wailing like that? That sounds different from most of what I've heard E.C. play.
@b52ro8 жыл бұрын
Agree. It's unusually high and wailing, but still unmistakably him :)
