#EricClapton I pray that this message somehow reaches you. I gave birth to my only daughter in 2007. She's the love of my life. I named her after this song. Thank you for writing such a beautiful work of art so that I could give my daughter her beautiful name who is the greatest and most beautiful work of art I've ever laid my eyes on. Thank you, I love you. Sheena♡

Clapton is the master, his music only becomes more refined and silky, yet held in simplicity now, leaving behind any periphery, any unneeded extra's, making him a "master. It is pure joy to listen to his sound. Seems he has always been in my life, his music is an old friend. Now, he grows old, and I also grow old, but his sound is even better with time, pristine, gentle and always a gift. It reflects Eric's authenticity from a soul level. He is his own. Thank you Eric for all the years of pure musical bliss. Sara Weslow

This song hit home with me about 6 years after it was first recorded in 1970 when I was 17 . It was 1976 I was out of the Navy after a 4 year stay going to college and drinking downtown after playing on the beach all day in Calif . I was parked downtown in my Van , small college town with rich retired people in the big homes. I had the radio on as I lay in bed in the back of the Van 1972 Van all fixed up inside for camping , my shorty Boogie Van...lol.. I did alright with the girls in College but just was not finding the love of my life. I lost her when her family moved back to the Netherlands in 1970 . This song came on and seared itself into my brain followed up by Thorn tree in the garden ...That night those songs that feeling of love lost unforgettable ... fast forward to 2010 I found my lost Dutch love she was still in the Netherlands and she came to me in the USA . Her marriage was over she had her kids they were grown and gone . We held in our hands a fairy tale ending it was not an easy ride I went to her in Holland and bought a used car and took her out of her lousy rented room to France an ancient small rental rock house in Huelgoat was to be our start . Everything that could go wrong went wrong while we were there she fell for the single man next door in the big house he used and rejected her she came back to me the next day but my heart was broken for good this time after several years of trouble. I took her back to the Netherlands and gave her the car and I got on an airplane and back to the USA I went. We talked online over the year I went back to visit...no good...bought her another used car and furniture for her apartment . We talked online again...we will be friends so I bought a used car for me in her name in the Netherlands for me to see Europe in. She wrecked my car the man gave her 2 thou euro she added 500 from the sale of the 2 nd car I bought her to that and went and bought another car and that was that...Not so much as a thank you I never even got to drive " My car " also during that time she took up with a gay man he would spend weekends or a week night with her at her place it was not fun to see his face pop up on a skype call with her on a Friday at 4pm start of their 3 day & night long weekend... I learned one cannot go back at least this one can't...She was better as a lost love in 1970 ....she turned my whole world upside down...sorry for this long rant...I blame Eric Clapton....lol... I fade out with , Thorn tree in the garden playing softly on the turntable record player ...I'm going to buy a big motorcycle and ride till it's over...make the best of the situation before I finally go insane..
