Roberto Cray deserve more credit, he is an amazing guitarist
@bartvschuylenburg2 күн бұрын
Yup. Cray sounds amazing. Clapton’s guitar solo in this video is really not his best. He sounds like he’s in a hurry. Not the beautifull build up solo’s that he performed on other performances of this song. It’s as if he’s to much in awe of Cray’s solo and trying to hard to match it instead of doing his own thing.

I was fortunate to meet Robert Cray at the House of Guitars in Rochester, NY in 1990, walk the aisles with Richard Cousins, his bassist and chat. The guys played great and there was a full, huge moon to boot!

Wonderful performance starring two blues greats, Eric Clapton & Robert Cray. Also, playing rhythm guitar is Hiram Bullock, who was part of the band for this show, which included Marcus Miller & Omar Hakim as well. I believe it was called, "Sunday Night." Good heaven's! We are so competitive. Someone always has to win, someone always has to be better. There may be a time and a place for our sick, human condition, but folks, this is music. What Eric and Robert are doing is spiritual in nature. They are in musical communion with themselves, each other and their souls. They are gracious enough to share that with us and what a lot us end up doing is saying who won, whos's better, who has more "soul". Can't we just enjoy the music and leave it at that? Now back to our true nature, competing, winning, losing, speculating what other people want, what they mean, etc.....it goes on and on. Heaven help us.

two different men,,two different emotions I have seen Clapton play many, many times, since his return..I had three front row seats at Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill NC...but to choose between the two is unnecessary..it's a moot point..I think that they accentuate each other..this song was a collaboration of two amazingly talented men...and does it ever occur to anyone that Clapton has had his following for a long, long time..he's more than willing to share the stage and let younger musicians have the limelight for parts of the show...Derek Trucks shared the Stage with him in Charlottesville about fifteen years ago and he was excellent..EC has made his mark in the music industry and is not intimidated by other musicians...I say I love them both..and one is no better than the other...they are both Phenomenal....to say the least....long live Robert Cray and Slowhand...may they continue to perform and make more amazing music......And Derek Trucks reminds me of Duane Allman...that;s all I'm telling you about my age..I know he's more than proud of his Butch Trucks' nephew...he shines.....like the sun....pulled the ABB back together, after Dickie Betts being asked to leave the band..but he's Duane Allman's spirit...but he's also got his own band and his own style...I love music and I am fortunate enough to have seen many, many bands..I am lucky to live near a lot of cool,.acoustically perfect venues...wow...I need a fix..
