Thanks for your comment, I thought I recognised Knopfler on here along with Phil. I was only 2 years old but watching seeing it more when I was young has made this performance stick in my head with Tina, I always remember Eric Clapton wearing an orange shirt when I was younger. In August of 1972 I went to the Ohio State Fair. My friend's father was some bigwig, so we had front row seats at the Fair's concerts. Ike and Tina Turner were playing that day. I was 12 years old and didn't really want to see them, but we went anyway. It was AMAZING! The energy was unbelievable and one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Tina gave it her all and the dancing with the "Ikettes" was fantastic. Loved her ever since. She went though terrible times with Ike, but got out and was STRONG on her own. Love you too Eric!

This was once in a lifetime musical event what a reunion of talents the best of the best top of the cream at the time and only Tina could have assembled such a magnificent group of musicians. I was privilege to had seen her in concert back in the 70s and what a great show it was those legs of her ❤ RIP Ms. Tina Turner (Anna Mae Bullock) thank you for the music and the good times we will always respect honor and love you to an eternity.

This was a charity concert for The Prince's Trust. I doubt Tina, bless her, was involved in bringing all these performers together. A lot of these guys performed together quite regularly around this time. Mark Knopfler and Ray Cooper were with Eric for his 25th Anniversary Tour not long after and Elton John joined them for some of those gigs too. Eric stood in for Jack Sonni (whose wife had just given birth) when Dire Straits headlined The Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute Concert. Eric and Dire Straits played together again at Knebworth '90, with Mark, Eric and Ray sticking around to perform with Elton John. Phil Collins was among the other acts there that day too. All these guys were back on stage again a few years later for the Music for Montserrat concert at the Royal Albert Hall. All great gigs, all worth checking out.
