On first listening I was ready to kick up a fuss about plagiarism at the expense of Hendrix and the Floyds. Then I read an interview with Eric Gales where he openly admits (I quote): " ‘Too Close To The Fire’ is a brooding, Hendrix style thing which subtly begins to morph into a bluesy ‘Comfortably Numb’ style epic. Yes, it comes mightily close to theft but then doesn’t all the best blues music?." Kudos to the artist and the man ;) Btw, great album!
