He absolutely nailed this one. My favorite version of this song so far. He has great covers of Sabbath, Dio, Whitesnake, Journey, Pantera, Judas Priest, Bon Jovi and Mariah Carey as well on his channel. He is also a fantastic live singer. He won Swedish Idol a younger kid. You can still find his version of Queen's "Show Must Go On" and other nuggets from those days on KZbin.

Erik i more than amazing. I am Swedish and I have heard him live several times sinces 2009 and his voice and ranch is unreal but what is the most impressive is that he is even better live and he hits his noter EVERY EVERY TIME.he is the best ❤

Erik normally records with a couple of friends/artists that provide their musical parts to him. He then prefers to deliver the song "live" in his studio to the recorded music. Of course there could be multiple takes to perfect the song, but what we hear is the live voice of him with some reverb. ENJOY! PS: Erik beat cancer in 2021 and just after that he was approached by Skid Row (his all-time favourite band) to join them as the new singer. He toured and made the latest album with them, but due to the struggles with his health, still recovering from the cancer treatment, he had to withdraw for health reasons recently. DS.

Erik is great. One of my favourites. You should also check out Tommy Johansson. He was guitarist in Sabaton until recentlly and is lead guitar/singer in Majestica, but he does a ton of his own solo work and has a phenomenal voice - just like Erik. Erik and Tommy also did a collab on a Sabaton song Carolus Rex. Tommy J uploads a new cover almost every Friday. (psst and you'll like his guitar work) Cheers!

Erik is SO talented. He won the Swedish version of Swedens Got Talent. He has a vocal coach. He battled leukemia and got a bone marrow transplant while still in Skid Row. He left for his health. Best move ever. I love Snake Sabo and Rachel Bolan. However, I feel they did him dirty. I'm not sure about that part. Speculative on my behalf there. Respect them all, but liking is different than LOVING what you do. He is so sweet.

You should check out Tommy Johansson as well! Also Swedish with an amazing voice but also a multi instrumentalist and fantastic at arranging music. Previously lead guitarist in Sabaton. I could go on and on. Releasing a new cover every Friday. I don't know how he does it with the arrangements, planning the video, playing and singing all the parts. He's one in a million!

It may be of small note that of all the Whitney Houston songs….this is one of the easier ones to sing……that’s not to say it’s easy to sing! :)

Dolly Partten wrote this song for Porter Waggoner for he having her on his tv show. But she wanted to do more than country music so when she left his show she wrote this as a tribute to Porter. Not as a romantic song but as one to say thank you for letting her grow. I will say that Eric sings this better than anyone could. ❤❤❤❤❤

Erik's cover of Jonny Cash God is going to cut you down, is in his lower register. Out of his comfort zone according to himself. But really good. His cover of Sabaton's Carolus Rex together with Tommy Johansson, is a true power metal song. Also recommend!

This song is made and performed by Dolly Parton, and it's the best cover I heard since Whitney Huston did her cover. Where's your knowledge? You should even look/listen to him sing Mariah Carey's Without You, John Farnham's You're the voice and Eric Carmen's (Celine Dion) All by myself, they are also truly amazing! In 2009, Erik won Swedish Idol and performed the specially written song Higher in the final. On March 23, 2022, it was announced by Eddie Trunk that Grönwall is replacing ZP Theart as the lead singer of Skid Row. In March 2024, Erik announced that he was leaving Skid Row for health reasons after being diagnosed with leukemia. His first single, "Higher", reached gold on digital downloads after only three days. His debut album, self-titled Erik Grönwall, was released just ten days after the finals and debuted at number one on the Swedish albums chart and was certified platinum. Both as a solo artist and band member, Grönwall has numerous top 40 hits.

@@michaelgoyettemusic you may be right, but I think if you check out his cover of painkiller you'll hear the more mixed voice and his powerful head voice/falsetto. If you don't know the song, it's intense, so be ready. If you like Erik you might wanna check out some other artists doing similar metal epicness, Dan Vasc (worked with Eric on "breaking the silence", many many different colors and tones and styles but usually with a rock or metal flare), Girish Pradhan (does covers as well as front multiple bands, Tommy Johannson (former guitarist for Sabaton, one of the cleanest singers I've heard, but still has some grit if he wants), Rob Lundgren (worked with Dan on "reach out for the light"). Yo. This interpretation and delivery is more appealing to me than the original because it isn't sappy. Plus he has a voice with an incredible range. Sweden has provided us with incredible music artists, from songwriters to vocalists like this. Are you familiar with the Swedish band Dirty Loops? I’ve always thought that particular melody with those words, was very easy to sing…..I’m a terrible singer and even I can sing it in key. (Maybe a little lower)😂 I think WH version was overrated but still good….I think it’s impressive that he has such a powerful voice….I’m sure I’ll like some of his other stuff more though.
